Traditional Italian biscuits: Zaeti - Biscotti tradizionali veneti: Zaeti

Traditional Italian biscuits: Zaeti - Biscotti tradizionali veneti: Zaeti
This is a recipe of a traditional kind of biscuits from Venice and its region. They are called in a variety of ways, such as: Zaeti, Zaleti, Xaleti, and Xaeti. The latter is the correct form, I believe, but the former is the most common. The pronunciation is something like: z-ah-eh-tee.
They are a recipe that was born in the traditions of poor farmer families and it uses poor ingredients, such as cornmeal that is very common. The name comes from the word for yellow that is used in our dialect, again it has may forms: xaeo, xalo, zaeo, and zalo...

This project will be in two languages, English and Italian.

Italiano:
Questa è una ricetta di biscotti tipici veneti. Il loro nome può variare a seconda della zona e del dialetto come: Zaeti, Zaleti, Xaleti e Xaeti. Tipicamente erano preparati dalle famiglie contadine povere utilizzando gli ingredienti più disponibili, come la farina gialla. Il nome deriva dal termine che si usa in dialetto per indicare il giallo: xaeo, xalo, zaeo, and zalo...
