Introduction: Turban Beanie

About: We are two best friends from Croatia and mothers of two beautiful and fun little boys! We share the same name - Maja, and same interests in diy culture, upcycling, sustainable living, vintage clothing and furn…

I love wearing turbans and wanted to make one version to go with more casual fall and winter outfits! If you have an old, forgotten beanie, this is the project for you!

Step 1: Supplies:

beanie, a small piece of fabric, needle, thread, sewing machine (optional).

Step 2:

Pinch the front middle part of the beanie and sew it together with a needle.

Step 3:

Measure the sewn part and add 2 cm to this measure! This will be the length of your fabric piece. The withd should be about 6 cm. Fold your fabric lengthwise so that the wrong side is facing you and machine or hand sew the ends together by straight stitch. Finish by stitching the seam allowance with a zig-zag stitch if using machine. Turn the fabric inside out, fold the ends inside and turn the fabric so that the stitch is in the middle.

Step 4:

Turn the fabric piece so that the stitch is facing you and then sew the lower end by hand onto the front part of your beanie. When you are done turn the fabric piece downwards.

Step 5:

Turn your beanie to the wrong side and sew the second end of your fabric piece to it.
