Introduction: Turkey Bacon Club Sandwich (Tim Horton's Copy Cat Recipe)

This instructable shows you step-by-step how to re-create the turkey bacon club sandwich sold at Tim Horton's from your own kitchen for a cheaper meal that you can customize. Made for the 'Copycat Recipes' contest.

Ingredients:

Buns- chewy sub buns, ciabatta, filoncino, etc
Honey
Mustard
Romaine Lettuce
Tomato
Bacon
Deli Slices of Turkey

Step 1: Bacon

At 400℉ bake 4-8 strips of bacon. Flip at five minutes and drain on a paper towel after 8-10.

Step 2: Honey Mustard Sauce

Mix equal parts plain yellow mustard and honey together. 
Quantity depends on how much you like to use but approximately 1 tbsp of each will easily do 3-6 sandwiches.

Step 3: Lettuce & Tomato

Tear up a couple of leaves of lettuce and cut two slices of tomato per sandwich.

Step 4: Layering

Different Tim Horton's locations layer the sandwich slightly differently and it doesn't seem to matter which is up or down...

The most common arrangement (starting from top or bottom) is; honey mustard, bacon, turkey, tomato, lettuce.


Step 5: Enjoy & Adapt

Once you've enjoyed the turkey bacon club from home with fresh ingredients there's a good chance you won't want to pay for the original ever again.

This is a copycat of the Tim Horton's sandwich and delicious as it is there are many improvements that could be made. For example, try subbing out the deli meat for real turkey (or chicken) and adding slivered red onion.

The Tims I used to go to always used at least 8 slices of bacon for a six inch sub and as many slices of tomato as it took to overlap the slices from one end of the bread to the other...and not tissue thin either. Never only 2. The lettuce was very green and it was not skimpy either and I never had a sandwich with the white core of the lettuce leaf...only the dark green part.. Don't change it. It is perfect. I have made them myself but cost wise it is basically the same here. Well I hear that Tim Hortons is no longer Canadian so I don't know if they are going to be as good anymore. I always loved them.
