Introduction: Turn Almost Anything Into a Lamp

Step 1: Extract the Lamp Fixtures

Find an old lamp (I used a lava lamp) and using whatever means necessary, pull out the electrical pieces without damaging them. You could probably go buy these parts but what's the fun in that?

Step 2: Detach the Wires

Loosen the screws on the electrical piece and pull out the wiring.

Step 3: Find a Suitable Lamp Body

I used a pot I bought in Arizona but you could really use anything that's large enough, has a satisfyingly large hole to work with, and is easy enough to drill through.

Step 4: Drill a Hole in the Bottom

It should be large enough for the bottom part of the lamp piece to fit into.

Step 5: Drill a Hole in the Side

It should be large enough for the wire to fit through but not too large.

Step 6: Push the Wire Through the Hole

Pull it out of the top of the pot (or whatever you're using)

Step 7: Reattach the Wires

Just place the wires back into position and tighten the screws holding them in place.

Step 8: Add Glue to the Bottom of the Electrical Piece

Don't drown it in glue but don't be skimpy.

Step 9: Put It in Position

Place the lamp piece on the bottom of your lamp body so that the small screw-like part aligns with the hole on the bottom. Hold it for a little bit and let it dry.
