Introduction: Turn Cereal Box Mask Into Leather-ish Mask (cereal Box, Tape & PVA)

how i made this cereal box mask into leather-ish finish?

step 2 i will show you how to prepare PDF template & put them together.

if you like to know how strong is dried PVA glue, watch this:

Step 1: Step 1: As Usual...

as usual, just print, tape, glue PDF template onto cereal box (or similar thickness paperboard)

you can find PDF & items used from my blog post

Step 2: Step 2: Strapping Tape & Micropore Surgical Tape (3M)

but this time i used strapping (cloth type) tape on the inside, for flexibility & strength.

surgical tape on the outside, because i need this to be very thin & flexible

Step 3: Step 3: Cover the Whole Mask With Surgical Tape

cover it with about 2 rolls of surgical tapes. brush on coats of PVA glue (white glue), surgical tape absorb water & PVA glue, form a strong layer.

see this experiment on how strong pva glue can be:

Step 4: Step 4: Zipper

the mask is too tight to put on without an opening, so had to use zipper.

Step 5: Step 5: Primer & Black Paint

after primer & black spray paint, it does looks like leather, yay! :)

details & reference on my youtube, blogspot & instagram, thanks for reading!
