Yeah, here goes: plug headphones into microphone jack; speak into left headphone (or try both, one after the other to identify the one that works); done!

i found this out a while back, but in an odd way! i had baugt a micraphone and i put it in the wrong audio port by mistake! i was freaked out when my microphone started speaking!LOL!

for me it turned out that both the headphones worked as a mic.
