Step 8: Glue in the LED

Use the hot melt glue to fix the LED in place, using just a little glue at a time, be careful not to glue lower than the Wheels.
mine works now i had the wires wrong
Well done, lets see some pics then ?
i got some pics of mine for led hotwheels car check it out
i know you posted this along time ago so idk if u care
Here are mine... i made two. one is a '34 ford an the other is some cheap one that looked cool from target. I used a wire that the ends were stripped and use a 3-volt on it because i was too lazy to find a usb cord.

(P.S.) macro rocks!
coundt u just put some watch batteries or whatever was in your headlights tut inside the car to power the undercarriage lights?
if so... Could that work while installing into a die-cast car?
add a memory stick
mine wont work
Thats a shame, try harder !
is it a flash drive?
No, just a light.
oh. =|
have you gone nuts
No, I'm nuts to start with!
is there a way to put in a battery and maybe like a switch, so its portable underglow?
see: Battery Free, USB Powered LED Torch
just mod it a bit and put in a usb jack instead so u can charge it with a 2 sided usb plug cable...
I have an intractable like you described comming soon.
I have that same hobby knife set. I got it from the 99 cent store.
i got the same one also for cents but i gave it to my dad and got this one http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/photos/96500-96599/96551.gif for 5 dollars
99 Cents?, I live in the UK & the knife set cost me 1 Pound, looks like I was ripped off!
how much is a pound to a dollar? like 1pound=2 usd ?
how did you get the body to stay on?
Use a hot glue gun, or you could use some tiny self tapping screws, if you have a drill bit small enough to drill out the rivets.
probly a tiny bit of glue
Thanks for all the comments, I have more projects on the drawing board. Can anybody identify the Landscape in the last picture? Its in the UK!
hey i just bought that, galaxy is it? from target yesterday. sweet
Sweet Custom Lighting!!! I have been customizing Hot Wheels for 10 years, this will make a great new custom idea!!!!
what a gr8 idea!!!
that's male I'm afraid
ok, ok, MALE USB plug!!!
sorry for being a dick I was just bored.
I was thinking, I've got an old bluetooth headset lying around I'm sure the battery is small enough to fit inside the car. No need to switch it off, just let the battery die, then recharge. Over all a great Instructable.
hey.hotwheels made in Malaysia.where did you live???
i lived in Malaysia !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! wooohhh hooo
you could also build a USB flash drive into the car and use it like that, with the drives LED wired into better LEDS. good instructable though
Great idea, unfortunately it is 1:25 am (Don't think my family would appreciate me getting out the Dremmel!) or I would get to work on it right now.#

Watch this space!
AWSOME STUFF MAN! and it is a MALE plug not a FEMALE plug it would just be weird to do it with a female but kick butt instructable
Nice! Can you send me one?
i believe that is a Male usb plug, other than that its a pretty cool idea i think making an LED Throwie for this would be more efficient and safe for that matter
LOL What a great imagination I love it!
when i first saw the instructable i thought, cool and then i thought to make it into a usb mouse idk if i will do it though
Cool, I love miniatures and dioramas. I would paint the interior, drill a few miniature holes in the dash for dash lighting, add head lamps and brake lights. Cool nonetheless! I'm wondering if there's a way to stash a lithium cell inside to power up the led(s) and add a mini switch somewhere in the undercarriage.
