Now, take two magnets and place them at the unhinged end of the lighter.
This will keep your thumb drive closed so dust doesn't get in it.
I used a old harddrive magnet, that i broke in half.

Magnets have no effect on flash memory. This is why solid state is so great. :)

flash memory doesnt wrie magnetically. thats disk drives. i made something similar to this at one point. 2 microSD cards rigged to a custom twin USB hub. i kept the flint and everything, and the wheel made the plug extend and retract. also downloaded portableapps and had a zippo skin applied to the startup menu.
