USB drive altoid smalls mod by ultrauber

Step 1: What you need

a) scissors
b) lots of duct tape
c) altoids smalls tin
d) usb drive - the typical size i.e. cruzer mini

Note: I had fully built this before I wrote the instructable, so some pictures may not fit the step. Also, in the below picture the usb isn't supposed to be inside the case already.

This is my first instructable.

"Google check out 4 free" Where's that? Where is that?
!Andrew_Modder! says: Mar 1, 2008. 12:56 PM
lol. on buy.com there is google checkout for new users, and you get 10$ off your order. so it was 10$-10$=free ;-)

I did this a while back, because my case to my flash drive broke. If I were you, I would use hotglue instead of tape. It holds it in much better!
ultrauber (author) says: Mar 14, 2008. 9:43 PM
yeah, i know. when i made this i had no hot glue gun so i had to use the duct tape. now i got a new 4GB and hot glued it in, but it just fell out (the hot glue just couldn't hold on any longer) so i just stuffed the empty space with tissues. it was meant to be a short term solution, but i have kept it like that since.

iIsuppose you could put otherstuff in there, like a few bills, or a key.

LinuxH4x0r says: Jan 20, 2008. 10:24 AM
Nice! A little big?
ultrauber (author) says: Jan 24, 2008. 4:46 PM
i suppose it could be a bit big. it depends on what you're looking for. I have seen some huge usb drives (look at all the ones made out of dolls) and some very small ones. there might be a smaller altoids case, which could work well.
LinuxH4x0r says: Jan 24, 2008. 6:49 PM
It's better than most, but I really don't have that much space (check out metal usb -thats how I did mine) I didn't mean it bad, just a suggestion.
Shifrin says: Jan 20, 2008. 11:51 AM
This is really Cool! The best part is you don't have to take apart your USB, and risk braking it, so later if you don't like it you can just take it back out! Nice! -Shifrin

My school gave them out for free.
GorillazMiko says: Jan 20, 2008. 10:02 AM
Cool, me likes. I like this too because I don't have to pry open the USB drive and stuff, nice job! +1 rating. (added to favorites)
