Introduction: UV LED Lamp (PCB Curing)

Picture of UV LED Lamp (PCB Curing)

This UV lamp was made to use in the curing process of home made PCB
boards. It can also be used for many other useful purposes such as disinfecting surfaces or causing potential harm to your skin and other organs. The body of the lamp was made out of scrap wood I had laying around and the light cover was cut from some spare plexiglass.

Step 1: Breadboard

Picture of Breadboard

There are one hundred LEDs, two to a series making fifty sets in parallel with a resistor for each set of two LEDs.

The breadboard also contains a DC barrel Jack for power which I sealed firmly in place with JB Weld.

The power supply is 12v @ 2Amps

Step 2: Body

The wooden portions of the body were rapidly cut to size using a compound miter saw and wood glued together.

The lamp cover is from plexiglass that was scored and cut to size.

Hi very interesting and well done!

Is there a reason for running the power cord from below rather than from the side or above?

How did you determine the height to use?

How large of PCB is acceptable? Is all of the lighted area usable? I need 4.5" x 6"

Have you actually used it? I am concerned that there is nothing to hold the pieces (PCB and mask) against each other to prevent leakage and wrinkling. I have had trouble with both.

Hy great lamp, but 500mA enough for 100pcs leds? As I knowva led need about 20mA.

You're right! It was a 2 amp power supply. Thank you for the reminder and sorry for the mistake.
