Haha, I haven't made one of these in forever. Originally we shot airsoft (or metal) BB's out of them at people, but around 5 years ago when those liquid-ice mint things were all the rage we started using those. You could bounce them off hard surfaces and they would shatter on people leaving a wonderful stinging sensation and a discoloration the color of the mint. It was like mini paintball!

You can gently squeeze the cap end of the pen with pliers or something else. That will break the glue, then you can pull it out with needlenose pliers. Some of the other pen gun instructables have pictures on how to do it.
