Introduction: Upcycled Starbucks Frappuccino Bottle Centerpiece

This DIY project creates beautiful centerpieces out of upcycled Starbucks Frappuccino glass bottle four packs. The total project time is around 25 hours, including dry time for paint. This is a fun project that allows you to make personalized decor for your home or events. The centerpieces are simple to create and does not require any particular skill sets.

Step 1: Items Needed

•Nail polish remover (Acetone)

•Cotton balls

•Artificial flowers from your local craft store

•A Starbucks Frappuccino 4-Pack, already consumed (carrying crate included)

•Spray paint (We used Rust-oleum UltraCover in Gloss and Satin)

•Wire cutters

•Crafting hot glue gun & glue sticks

•Old cardboard boxes (enough to cover workspace)

•Twine

•Scissors

Step 2: Wash Bottles and Remove Labels

Wash Bottles and Remove Labels

*Make sure bottles are empty and cleaned prior to step 2*

•Soak bottles in soap and warm water for 5 minutes to loosen the label

•Remove labels by peeling underwater

•The bottles will have left over adhesive residue. To remove, use a cotton ball and nail polish remover

•The bottles may still be sticky after the first attempt, so you may need to repeat the previous step

•Dry thoroughly

Step 3: Preparing Workspace

•First, ensure there is large enough workspace available to use for up to 24 hours.

•Area should be well ventilated and sheltered from the elements

•Then, prepare the space by laying out cardboard to protect the floor

•Test spray paint on cardboard

•Make sure space can be used for at least 24 hours

Step 4: Painting Bottles and Crates

•Set bottles upside down on cardboard, spaced far enough apart to ensure there is not cross-spray of different colors (unless that is the preferred look). Three to five feet should be sufficient

•Spray in an even, vertical, stroking motion

•Ensure all exterior surface is coated

•Leave to dry for at least 24 hours

•Repeat the same process for the carrying crates

•Don’t worry if there are drips…they add character!

Step 5: Twine Wrapping

•Once completely dry, wrap twine around each bottle, starting at the top, until at desired length

•Cut the twine with scissors and proceed to hot glue each end after coiling tightly

•Glue a line from top to bottom to secure twine and allow to dry

Step 6: Arranging Flowers

•Cut flowers to desired height using the wire cutter

•Arrange according to personal preference

•Display in desired area of home!
