Introduction: Upright Bottle Storage Case

Picture of Upright Bottle Storage Case

Hi,
I like when something that seems like trash becomes a usefull stuff. In this instructable I want to show you how empty bottle became a car organizer(for instance). I was inspired  by pfred2's idea here https://www.instructables.com/id/Kitty-Litter-Bottle-Breadboard-Storage-Case/ He made a cool horizontal bottle storage case. But I needed an upright storage case. So I decided to make it myself. It was very easy and I want to share it with you.

Step 1: Materials & Tools

Picture of Materials & Tools
I have a lot of empty bottles of different kind. I chose one that fits as organizer for my car.
So, all you need:
  • a bottle
  • a knife
  • a pencil
  • a permanent marker & a ruler are optional

Step 2: Mark a Cutting Place Around the Bottle

First, I chose a place for cutting and mark it around the bottle excepting rear part that will serve for opening. On front side of bottles will be two hooks.

Step 3: Mark Hooks

I think it dosn't need to describe this step in words. Just follow the pictures.

Step 4: Cutting

Now just cut the bottle across the line you marked. Start cutting from hooks to rear side of the bottle. Be carefull when you cut hooks! After you cut the bottle bend the hooks as you can see on the picture.

Step 5: Love Instructables.com? Say It LOUD!!!!!!!

Step 6: Enjoy!

I really like the result! Now this bottle has great second life!  And I have a storage case for my car. It was easy.
After I made my bottle storage case I made pfred2's storage case in 10 minutes. It was easy too. I think these cases are good couple.
Thanks. Enjoy!

Cool idea!!! My boyfriend's car is always a mess because of his tools, I will make him one or two of this for the trunk storage.

A post modern basket. I like that latch you worked out. Clever! In order to mark around something borrow a trick pipe fitters use and wrap a belt around your work. This is what the "pro" tool looks like:

But you can use any wide, straight bendy thing. Wide belts wrapped around objects naturally tend to wrap square to the work. Curv-O-Marks seem to be made out of a gasket material to me. It is kind of like heavy paper. So a strip of card stock should do the trick. Perhaps even corrugated cardboard if the corrugations are in line with your bend. Like cut the corrugated cardboard strip "the weak way" if you know what I mean.

Could be an idea for another article for you to post? How to make a Curv-O-Mark.
