Usb power supply for a Speaker

problem:
if you see the following image(second image) you will see there is the plug of speaker but there is no free connection for speaker to use.
solution:
the solution is (first image)usb speaker

You never specified what type of speaker you were running. And also, this will only work if the speaker only requires five volts to run.

Well can we have +5, +5, then half another USB power supply to give us our 12v? Plug it into USB hub.

I think I got your point. Each usb port can provide +5v. In theory, you'll need 3 ports/cables like that to sum 12v~15v. Actually, I don't know if you can do this. Do you really want to "waste" 3 usb ports to get 12v? I don't think so. In my opnion, this instructable is useful for some aplications like leds for keyboards (my case) or little fans or simple audio amplifiers, etc... If you want 12v, you can get from molex plug, using the yellow and black wires. You can get 7v too, but I don't remender how to do this. Someone correct me if necessary. Sorry by my poor english. You can't just add the voltages of two USB ports together. Each port's 5 volts comes from the same internal power supply.

Pretty well perfect English. and no i don't think it is worth it, however the idea that you can have a generic plug to run power through is a nice thought. Pick up a couple of the female adapters and add them to your next projects.

Good instructable but misleading. You have made a usb POWER SUPPLY for a Speaker not a USB SPEAKER like stated in the title.
