Introduction: Using Fusing (Glass)

This is a basic introduction to fusing glass. Fusing is a technique of joining pieces of glass together by melting them in a kiln.

Step 1: Tools

Kiln
Pyrometer
Glass prepared for firing
Fiber frax or kiln wash

Step 2: Load Kiln

In this step, great care should be taken to ensure that the glass is properly spaced and clean.

Step 3: Fire the Kiln

The kiln is fired to 1575 degrees at which point the two glass pieces should be fused.
*This requires a separate instructable of firing schedules of temperatures depending on the type of glass, the thickness, desired result, as well as the kink of kiln you are working with.

Step 4: Finished Artwork

After the kiln is unloaded, view your work.
