ACTIVATING HOME APPLIANCES with voice using bluetooth is a simplest way of making your home "A SMART HOME". In this series of STEPS.we are going to find out how cool is that to switch on the fan by simply sitting in a place.

INTERESTINGLY you can command your ARDUINO like "IRONMAN COMMANDS JARVIS"

i had made a sheild for arduino and bluetooth.ARDUINO is at the back of the board.

Step 1: HARDWARE REQUIRES

ARDUINO IDE

BLUETOOTH APPLICATION

This project is done in arduino ide and it’s available in the following link https://www.arduino.cc/en/Main/Software

The Bluetooth application we used is AMR VOICE. This application converts the voice commands we give into text and then it transmits them to the arduino via serial communication. The application can be downloaded by this link https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=robotspace.simplelabs.amr_voice&hl=en

Then the same is read by arduino as strings and then it performs the switching function of household items with the help of relay circuit.

Step 3: PROGRAMMING

Step 4: READY TO GO

Open the app and connect to the Bluetooth module.

If connected THE GREEN/RED LED IN THE HC-05 WILL GLOW ONCE EVERY 3 SECONDS.

Once connecting speak to the arduino with the commands you had set for the lights and fan to be turned on and off.

I was thinking of making this project but by mistake I bought a remote controlled relay in place of a normal one and return of the product does not seem possible. So plese tell me if I will be able to make this with the help of remote controlled relay??

I searched online and came to conclusion to control the remote of the relay to arduino but that seems to complicated and I might not be able to do that as I am a beginner. So I will make any other project with it.
But I have bought a regular 2 Channel relay module but I don't know how to connect 2 devices(a bulb and a fan) to it. I read online that I have to connect the power line from mains to COM pin of relay but I don't know what about the other relay to control the second appliance as there is only one wire which supplies the power. Can you please tell me how to connect both of them to the relay?

Most relay boards are provided with 3 terminals for connection. The middle one is the "common' terminal with NC and NO on both sides. Relays work just like switches.

All you have to do is to take the two wires connected to the switches on your switch board, give one to the common terminal and the other wire to either NC or NO.

The coding can be changed according to the connection. ie., if you have connected the wire to NC, make the relay pin LOW. If connected to NO, make the relay pin HIGH
