You're drawing power from it, which it's made for (the outer 2 pins at least).

Worst case you could destroy the motor or USB drive housing (unless you somehow manage to leave the real USB drive in there)

Also, you can't just damage an USB port by plugging something in it.
I've done some stupid stuff myself with the ports and worst case my computer disabled the ports and after a reboot they were fine.

Those are called pins. Universal Serial Bus has four pins, the two you point out carry power (a 5 volts and a neutral, if I recall right, with up to 400 mA depending on how the hardware allocates power. More often it's 100 mA), the two left unused carry data.
