Playing the WII was great fun and still is but certain games needed a better feel to them. There's mod's out there that help with shooting games but what about the main function of the WII, Sword fighting. So while waiting for the pinnacle game for the WII, a star wars game, i should prepare for it by building the fabled lightsaber/sword that the gods asked for.

This is my first instructable so please be gentle. Constructive criticism thanks

1. The star wars game IS coming out for the wii. It has been confirmed at E3 AND demo'd at E3. 2.This would be awesome when they come out with the, "Wii MotionPlus" and Wii Sports Resort.

If you wanted, you could use one of those realistic light sabers and just cut a hole in the handle!

not to dissapoint but word from lucas arts is that the next starwars game is going to be way to big for the wii. just the pixle scaling alone would freeze the wii

Dec 7, 2007. 12:42 PMmoop says:
Rubbish. Sorry. But it doesn't even make sense or look good. But it is clever how you designed it. So sorry for my desirable comments.

oh there will be a Star Wars for Wii, its about some kind of a kid being the last true jedi. There's only like 6 lightsabers in the world then too.

The Wiimote uses an IR sensor to check its position relative to the TV. The wii itself doesn't collect any IR data only the Wiimote.

Im guesing you mean "dremel" for "dermal"
May 5, 2007. 8:19 PMcandle360 says:
not really cool...you should just do it differently. I think this is a good idea but the wrong cover. This cover is for more like those other space games that use like ray swords or something not the lightsaber. I really think it's good though. Just modify it a bit.
Feb 20, 2007. 2:45 PMRun N Gun says:
A modification for this could be not to use the blue sword part, and put the wii remote in the silver handle part. Then, you could cut off the bottom of the silver part so the wrist-strap and nuchuck thing hole can come out the bottom. Using this mod, the Infared sensor would still be able to find the Wii remote. Just a Thought~
Feb 20, 2007. 2:47 PMRun N Gun says:
O yeah, lol can't stop thinking of new ideas. You could also make many different kinds of sword handles using my mod =). Like for zelda, star wars, etc.

YOU SHOULD PATENT THIS AND SELL THEM FOR MONEY! EXCEPT YOU'D HIRE PEOPLE TO MAKE THEM REAL PRFFESIONALLY, AND MAKE A TON OF MONEY!!!!
Feb 20, 2007. 2:41 PMRun N Gun says:
I was also think about the Infared sensor. How will the sensor that you mount on the TV be able to find the wii remote?
Feb 20, 2007. 2:39 PMRun N Gun says:
For your first Instructable this is very cool. I have a wii too. Too bad jackDaniels had to spoil the fun in telling us about how there won't be Star-Wars for the Wii. Just Joking Jack~ Good job smudgie86!

Nice job! I've always thought the Wii sword games needed more "sword" to them. Do you know why the remote needs a line of sight to the Wii? If it's IR, that could be extended.
