I really like the idea of using PVC for the blades. Is there a template somewhere? This could be really useful to scale up. Even in its present form, using the bicycle generator for power, it looks like a really fun project to play around with......

I think that in 2013 I will have to play around with some alternative energy. I was thinking about trying to come up with a polymer to "print" solar panels, but maybe wind is the way to go. I live pretty far north to take full advantage of solar power.

Nice! I have an old tape-drive motor someone junked many, many years ago.. Required about 24V to run, and I would imagine generates the same if moved. I wonder...??? Right now, I have a 12V 5W solar panel I keep a small 12V array up with.. Well done!

Neato! what kind of output do you get out of it. If i could charge rechargeable AA and D cell batteries, that would be a realistic step toward independance.
