Walkman Ipod Case - DIY

Walkman Ipod Case - DIY
This is my old Sony Walkman Sport. It took me everywhere since high school. When i traveled to japan years ago i heard of some people putting the "new" iPod in them. So i kept mine thinking i would do that as a project one day. I also saved foam from some packaging for another type of electronic.

Its not that i have lots of time.. but i figured it would be good for my creative soul to finally get it off my mind! And its a great way to re-purpose something that was going to be recycled.

This is a fantastic project! The only thing I would want to add is to a chip and micro switches to allow you to control the ipod from the buttons on the outside.

You could use pool noodle foam or pipe insulation. Very cheap at hardware store.

5*. I love this. It's.... Great. This would make a great "kit" to sell the parts for people to make themselves.

Yeah, for a few more years at least :P But I meant, buy a bunch, hollow them out, cut all the foam pieces, and have the cord all ready. Then they'd just glue stuff together and voila!
You could probably sell kits like that for around 30$ each.. Not sure if it's worth it to you, but I'd certainly buy one!

Pretty cool. Protected from bumps and falls and "no one" is going to be tempted to steal it. Points for the retro factor too. Well done.
