Introduction: Water Blob

If you have extra plastic laying around at home, try this cool (and easy) project.

Step 1: Materials

For this project you will need:

-Plastic sheet (doesn't matter how big, we cut about a 10'x10' piece)

-Iron and ironing board

-Towel or sheet to iron with

-Duct Tape

-Water source

Step 2: Laying Out the Plastic

Make sure you have as perfect of a rectangle as possible to make your blob even. Look for holes, and tape them over as needed. Fold the sheet in half and put one edge on the ironing board.

Step 3: Ironing

Ironing the two sides of the plastic will melt them together and form a watertight seal. When doing this, be sure to put a towel over the plastic so the iron does not directly touch it. Turn the iron to its hottest setting and move it back and forth over the edge until the sides have melted together. Check the edge frequently to ensure you don't iron too much or too little.

Step 4: Leave a Hole to Fill the Water

Before ironing, mark out an area in the plastic that the hose will be put into. Do not iron this section.

Step 5: Fill With Water

Now that you have sealed all edges, it is time to fill your blob with water. Put a hose into the hole you left for it. Turn the hose on and wait for it to fill up. If you are working on a slight hill, (as we did) put something to hold the uphill side in place so it does not slide. Also raise the hose a bit so the water does not come spilling out.

Step 6: Patching the Holes

After the blob has filled with water. Tape over the hose hole, as well as any other areas which appear to be leaking.

Step 7: Enjoy!

Now that you have your very own water blob, you can do whatever you want with it!
