Introduction: Water Powered Flashlight - Micro MEDELIS BATTERY

Picture of Water Powered Flashlight - Micro MEDELIS BATTERY

Just Add Water and This Tiny Emergency Flashlight Glows ...

I named this MEDELIS BATTERY
This battery generates electric power out of Tap Water

(drinking water, river, lake, rain or any similar liquid)...

its small, powerful and super basic

MEDELIS BATTERY will generates electricity until the water dries up...for many hours

(you can always refill water - make it work again)

Step 1: To Build Water Powered Flashlight (MEDELIS BATTERY) You Will Need Some Stuff

Picture of To Build Water Powered Flashlight (MEDELIS BATTERY) You Will Need Some Stuff

Copper Plate, Magnesium Ribbon & Thread...(common thread - normal)

Step 2: You Must Make

Picture of You Must Make

Thread must be between Magnesium and Copper - Be sure you don’t let the Magnesium & Copper touch each other.

You must make 4 (MEDELIS BATTERY) cells

each cell will produce 1,3 volt

connect 4 (MEDELIS BATTERIES) so that the positive of one connects to the negative of the ...

and you get 5,2 volts

Copper (+)

Magnesium (-)

Now connect LED and your flashlight ready to go...

Step 3: Add Water and This Tiny Emergency Flashlight Glows ...

if you do not let water to dried (put it all in a plastic bag) battery will generates electric power for very long, long....long time

what if i dont have magnesium ribbion what else can i use instead???

Medelis (author)JosephS1442016-04-17

if you use Aluminum you get 70% less power...

Rubens?? (author)Medelis2017-03-17

so I get 0.39V? I would have to make 14 of those?but, if I make 14, will it work just fine? Thaks

Medelis made it! (author)JosephS1442016-04-17

you can use (Alkaline Earth Metals) Beryllium, Magnesium, Calcium ...

you can buy magnesium from...

I made it thank you

pieterg (author)2016-04-13

actually, it is not the water that is generating the voltage. its the redox reaction between copper and magnesium. The metals get consumed after a while. The water's function is a charge medium, passing ions, allowing for a neutral charge on both metals.

could u make a very large version of this that might have a output of say 12v+ ??how many amperes do these product? ik its very little

Medelis (author)hotrod692016-04-14

you are welcome - it's very simple to make, you can do this project by you self and please write your results...thank you

When I was a kid a neighbour of mine worked for the french weather institute, and he often gave me such batteries that were originally used for weather balloons. They lasted a complete night, arround 12 hours, but once discharged it was finished !

It was a source for free magnesium which is a metal almost magic for kids.

my battery (MEDELIS BATTERY) its rechargeable

you can use many times - you are welcome to try out
