OK, here's some calculations. a 9 volt battery has an internal resistance of ~2ohms, which means it can output about 4.5 Amps. Lets assume he pwm it down to a lower voltage with more amps, like 5 volts because amount of hydrogen prudced is based on amount of amps. Now he has about 8 amps. I'd say 8 amps could produce that much hydrogen, especially at an efficient frequency. The battery would only last for about 6 minutes max, but that's enough. The only thing I don't like about this is the brown's gas thing, how does it work? a normal setup would be exploding right now. I know the principle is "mono" hydrogen and oxygen, but I thought that was impossible!

Here's my math 9 volt battery capacity 225 mAH = 7290 Joules. Electrolysis of water rquires 237 kJ per mole, one liter of water can be decomposed to 1200 liters of hydrogen ans 604 liters of oxygen, a mole of water is 18 grams so approx 55.5 moles per liter. He claims one liter of gas, so 237000*55.5/1804=7291Joules. Accounting for errors, he's getting 100% efficiency.

He's actually getting over-unity, by your figures - one extra joule-worth of gas!

What? I was going to post my perpetual motion machine soon, but now I won't bother. Stupid machine just keeps running faster and getting hotter, really annoying.

Brown's Gas was debunked years ago, but there's a "conspiracy" element to the psyche of a BG pundit - They are holding back the research to keep the big corporations rich - which means that, like overunity and other such woowoo, it just won't die.

Hydrogen burns clear, not blue.
Jul 19, 2008. 4:50 PMcheezstake says:
pure hydrogen does indeed burn blue, but due to how the hydrogen recombines with the oxygen at the point of ignition, it does indeed burn blue. A Brown's Gas Welder also burns blue.
Jul 20, 2008. 1:58 PMclone says:
Brown's Gas is a fraud. Even a basic understanding of stoichiometry proves that.
Jul 20, 2008. 8:51 AMKiteman says:
Pure hydrogen does not burn. A mixture of hydrogen and oxygen has a colourless flame. The blue flame in the video is typical of simple hydrocarbons, such as propane, methane or acetylene.
Jul 19, 2008. 6:15 PMkruser495 says:
IT WILL ONLY BURN BLUE OR WHITE WHEN MIXED WITH OXYGEN. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jul 19, 2008. 4:49 PMcheezstake says:
Sorry, I meant to agree with you that H2 burns clear. Sorry...

completely and utterly fake.

Agreed - flagged as spam because the poster probably only want metacafe cash.

Probably? Assuredly! He posted this same fake thing in February, than removed it.

Jul 20, 2008. 11:42 AMKiteman says:
Ah! Presumably you've flagged it as well?
Jul 20, 2008. 1:00 PMTool Using Animal says:
of course.
Jul 20, 2008. 8:50 AMKiteman says:
Utter fake.

"HHO" and "Brown's Gas" were debunked years ago (Link - see page three).

Electrolysing water can only produce molecular H2 and molecular O2

Try igniting that mixture at the end of a pipe, and the flame-speed (some thirty times higher than that of methane) will mean that gas-flows of several litres per second would be needed to keep the flame outside the end of the tube, rather than burning all the way back to source.

This is just his version of a Brown's Gas Welder. Commercial versions are available in the U.S. The welder has wonderful properties in that it can weld materials that can not be welded together with traditional welding rigs. To put on one's "X-Files" hat, some believe that the Egyptians and ancient Sumerians knew of this technology. Nice demonstration, but like mentioned before, some explanation of how you made this would be nice.

Some also believe the the Martian Face is a carving by aliens...

The appearance of the bubbling gases inside the jar looks edited in.

Can you please post a schematic?
Jul 19, 2008. 2:47 PM=SMART= says:
wow cool , looks like a bomb though :D
Jul 19, 2008. 1:35 PMHands Without Shadows says:
Without more info I would have to say this is fake. A 9v battery cant produce that much heat.
Jul 19, 2008. 9:38 AMlimbo says:
Can you give more details about the project? I mean the way to achieve electrolysis and seperate the HHO to hydrogen and oxygen etc
Jul 19, 2008. 12:13 PMmikedoth says:
Ditto.
Jul 19, 2008. 11:15 AMravenc83 says:
looks kinda fake. the reaction in the glass container looks like it was added in after effects.
Jul 19, 2008. 11:12 AMnf119 says:
Is this real? The idea is clearly plausible but idk if it was innovation or nice special effects
