A nice and easy summer drink that is cool and refreshing. Its great for cooling off in the intense heat.
I hear its pretty hot over at Instructables, this is the drink for you and the whole Instructables community. I hope you enjoy it.

Step 1: Ingredients

1/3 cup water
1/4 cup sugar
Chilled watermelon
1 tablespoon lime juice

What I used:
Sauce pan
Small bowl
Large bowl
Baking pan
Plastic wrap
Magic Bullet or Blender

Step 2: Dissolve Sugar

Pour the 1/3 water and 1/4 sugar into a sauce pan at low heat, stir until sugar is dissolved.

Step 3: Chill the Syrup (dissolved Sugar and Water)

Pour the syrup into the small bowl, and place the small bowl with the syrup in the larger bowl that is filled with cold water and ice, stir syrup until cooled.

Step 4: Watermelon

Cut the watermelon into chunks, amount is to your pleasing.

Step 5: Blend

Use your Magic Bullet or blender to puree the watermelon.

Step 6: Add Syrup and Lime Juice

Add the syrup and the lime juice to the puree (blended) of watermelon. Then re-blend with syrup and lime in.

Step 7: Pour Into Baking Pan

After everything is well blended pour the mixture into a baking pan and then cover with plastic wrap.
Then put in the freezer to freeze.

Step 8: Scrape the Watermelon Ice

Use a fork to scrape the watermelon to lighten the texture then put in a small glass. Then add more water to fill the glass or Sprite or some sort of alcohol, whatever you prefer. Then stir it a little.
Finish with a little slice of watermelon with the rind (watermelon skin) still attached.

can you also boil up 1/3 of a cup of water in a water boiler and then desolve the sugar in to so you dont need to use a pan?

if you boil some water throw it in a glass with the sugar and stir it it won't dissolve all the way but if you throw it in the microwave and stir every 30 seconds it will dissolve

Where did you get the idea to make the syrup? could you use grenadine instead? Do you think it would work with another type of fruit such as peaches?

Try it and tell me how it works out

This is the best frozen fruit drink i have ever had thank you so much

I'm so glad you like it

Do you suppose you could substitute vodka for the water to make it an adult drink?

Of course but my suggestion would be to fill halfway with the watermelon ice then half with the vodka and wait a little for the ice to melt and then drink.

Might be easier to use an ice-cream machine? Will have to try that when summer is here again. Sounds dlicious

I agree with you, hmmm if only I had an ice cream machine.... Imagine the possibilities, lol I'll show you what I can do with one if I win the Frozen Treats contest, so be sure to vote.

Thank you so mutch for this!
I bought a watermelon yesterday to see what it taste like but
it wasn't really that so I saw this and made it and it was delicious!
Only took 5min of my time to make this, perfect!

I'm so glad it turned out well, I still have some in my freezer to make into the drink. And a vote would be very much appreciated.

Winter in South Africa now but definitely a recipe for very hot African summers. Will think of you in January :)
