Wiring the gerberas (and other hollow stem flowers)
Gerberas are weird flowers that have very long stems - florists usually put them into straws or plastic tubes to keep their stems straight in arrangements. For bouquets though, they need to be wired. Take 2 long lengths of florist wire and pierce the first right under the "head" of the flower. Don't go into where the petals are. Wrap the first wire around the flower in a spiral... don't make it too hard of a twist around the stem. Do the same with the second wire but pierce it at 90 degrees from the first wire (it should make like an X) and wrap that wire around it too. Basically, you're making a little "cage" out of wire so the stem doesn't go limp.

You can do the same for things like sun flowers, tulips, etc.
