The symptoms most commonly associated with Enrichment Center activities are superstition, perceiving inanimate objects as real, and hallucinations. The Enrichment Center would like to remind you that the Weighted Companion Cube will never threaten to stab you, and infact, cannot speak.

That's not an Aperture approved weighted cube. That's clearly an M.C. Escher brand Companion Cube.

mcntim95 says: Jun 25, 2008. 10:17 AM
That's the oldest trick in the book.
You just have to cut a section the size of the width of the section going through the front bar, and stand at the right angle... DUH.

REA says: Jun 21, 2008. 8:06 PM
i see how it works!
ZeroTruths says: Jan 30, 2008. 6:06 PM
It's just an optical illusion. It can be built, but in order for it to appear like this, you could only stand in one specific spot.
GorillazMiko says: Jan 30, 2008. 3:13 PM
Can you post an Instructable?
AT says: Jan 30, 2008. 7:29 PM
That would be cool to see someone build this. It would be somewhat easy to do. You make a cube out of whatever and make sure it is somewhat well constructed. Then, you cut a gap in one of the edges so you can see through it to the back vertical edge. If you look at it with one eye from the right direction, it will look like the picture above. If you are good with visualization and think about the top, front edge not being one piece but two, and that through the gap between these two pieces you can see the rear vertical edge, you will see how this can work in reality. :-) P.S. Nice instructable....
darkmuskrat says: Jan 30, 2008. 7:00 PM
just metacafe it, i believe i saw some guy from the middle east post 1 on their
iq_abyss says: Jan 29, 2008. 10:30 PM
Dam, that picture causes me physical as well as mental pain. Being insane (self diagnosed) doesn't help much. Ouch! But if anybody can succeed in making it work in 3 dimensions (or more if you feel it totally necicary) I want to know how. IQ_abyss
SteamKit says: Jan 30, 2008. 12:29 PM
You can actually build these, I've seen them. Can't remember where I saw, but obviously they don't work -quite- like the picture. A couple of the pieces are curved so that when you look at it at -just- the right angle it blows minds.
jaysbob says: Jan 30, 2008. 2:46 PM
their actually not curved. theres an angled cut-out in two of the sides. Other than that its a regular cube. Just google Necker Cube. as far as the instructable goes: aww I was hoping for something machined out of metal. the small thumbnail pic was deceiving. I guess thats a compliment to the craftsmanship in a roundabout sort of way. lol.
