White chocolate 150g
Baking powder ½ teaspoon
Vanilla 1 teaspoon
Eggs 2, lightly beaten
Ingredients for the White chocolate ganache:
White chocolate 300g
Method for the cake:
Preheat oven at 165⁰C for 10 minutes
In a thick bottomed pan add sugar, chocolate and milk. Simmer on low heat until sugar dissolves and chocolate is melted. Do not boil till bubbles form. Keep stirring. Keep aside to cool.
Beat the eggs and add to the cooled chocolate mixture. Mix flour and baking powder together and add to the chocolate mixture. Mix using a wooden spoon. Add vanilla essence.
Pour the cake mixture into a greased 9” round cake tin and bake at 165⁰C for 60 minutes or toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Cool completely before pouring the ganache over the cake.
Method for the Ganache:
In a thick bottomed pan boil the milk and remove from heat. Add the chocolate to the milk and keep aside covered with a lid. After 15 minutes, mix well till chocolate is all melted. When completely cooled pour over the cake and decorate with orange slices or white chocolate curls.
