Batman is the vigilante protector of Gotham City in the DC comics universe. He is also the alter ego of billionaire Bruce Wayne. The Bat signal summons Batman telling there is trouble and calling him to action. This instructable teaches you how to make a Wi-Fi controlled bat signal using a link it one.
Step 1: Materials
To construct your Bat signal you will need
- LinkIt ONE Board
- White LED
- Index Card
- Glue Stick
- 1kΩ Resistor x1
- 330Ω Resistor x1
- WiFi/Bluetooth Antenna
- Transparent Plastic
- Kabob Stick x4
Step 2: LinkIt One
The LinkIt ONE is a microcontroller board developed by MediaTek. It has built in connections for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GSM and GPS antennae in addition to Arduino compatibility. This instructable takes advantage of the Wi-Fi capability.
Step 3: Let's Begin!
On one of your pieces of cardboard cut out a large circle, leave the other one alone for now.
Step 4: Attach the Transperant Plastic
Using the glue stick attach the plastic around the hole. Cut off any access hanging over the sides. of the cardboard piece.
Step 5: Making the Logo
Draw and Cut out the bat symbol from the index card, using the glue attach it to the transparent plastic.
Try to get it as close to the center as you can.
Step 6: Mounting the Signal
Using the kabob sticks poke holes in the cardboard piece.
Line up the holes and do the same with the signal piece.
Step 7: Connection
Push the kabobs through both pieces creating a stand.
TIP: Try to get the two cardboard pieces about 5 in apart, and cut the kabob sticks down to size.
Step 8: Circuit
Now that our stand is done we have to create the led circuit.
The circuit modeler I used doesn't have the LinkIt ONE yet so I put an Arduino as a stand in
With the LinkIt one you must connect the Wi-Fi antenna to the port on the bottom
Step 9: Code & Setup
Download the attached code to your LinkIT ONE
replace WiFiName with the name of your wifi, and PASSWORD with your password, etc.

Create an account and create a new prototype
Click details on the prototype and add a data channel
Set the channel as a controller
Next add a test device
Step 10: Done
