At the other end
we make a bridge for the belt to go over and mount it to the frame. tensioning is accomplished by means of a tuning peg. The tuning peg is a pencil crammed into a hole ;-).

I love your use of technical terms like "crammed." :D I actually have a question: does the 'belt' need to be elastic, or would a belt of carbonfibre/teflon thread work equally well? I'm curious because I don't want to have to replace things often.
