Windows 7 Starter-change the theme.
You can change the default theme on Windows 7 Starter by going to Windows Classic. From there you can change the desktop and taskbar to any color you want. As I explain in this video. Andrea Borman.

i did so,not especially interested in any other distractions offered on site. well 45 mins later, i am able to make a comment. 1 did you install a 3rd party app i,e, windows classic shell? i ask, 'cause i can't find it in my version of win7
2. you moved the taskbar to left corner of desktop; but its blocked when you click on start orb. why not use the task-bar's auto-hide feature, and or, the f11 button, to see more of the web page?
