Hey there, Tara Bowerman here, Elemental LED's Customer Service Rep with a Holiday upcycled DIY project.

I found a square foam block given to me by a coworker, which has been sitting on my desk waiting to be used for some time. This block always reminded me of ice because of it's color and thought foam would nicely diffuses light into a warm glow, so what better time than to use it for the holidays!

Materials

Dance Party Light Kit
3 ft High Density RGB Strip Light
1 foot foam box
Exacto knife
An assortment of clear Christmas decor from a craft store

Step 1: Design Time

First, I started by taking my translucent star and snowflake ornaments and creating a design. I started with the stars, tracing with an exacto knife and peeling away the thick layer of foam until it was hollow. I then inserted the star into the cutout so the light can pass through and leave cool shapes on the wall.

Step 2: Carving Away

I found resin ice cube at the craft store and I cut holes out for light to pass through those as well. Easy shapes to cut into. The blue snowflakes have a more intricate shape so I chose to carve out only two of the three layers so it would diffuse and soften the light.

Step 3: Voila!

I used the Dance Party Light Kit and a few feet of the High Density RGB Strip Light and have it controlled through our Apollo Jammer controller that bounces light to the sound of music. Perfect for any holiday party!
