I built this camera pan and tilt a couple years ago and have just now finally gotten around to putting it on here. I wanted to be able to wirelessly control the direction of my wireless camera that i had, so i started looking thru all of my junk piles finding stuff to make one out of. I built the base out of a cd drive tray, and used the motor that controlled the opening and closing for the pan function. I built the base of the mechanism that the camera would sit on out of a piece of the metal cd drive case and some erector set pieces. For the tilt i used a motor out of an out floppy drive that already had a gear reduction on it, i glued a shaft onto the end of the gear and created a deck for the camera to sit on. Now for the wireless part i used an old remote control car, i connected the forward/reverse wireless to the tilt part of the camera, and the side to side movement to the pan. The whole project is powered by a 6volt battery, besides the camera which has its own power supply. This is my first instructables, so if you have any questions please leave comments.

Couldnt you have powered the pan and tilt motors through the supply for the camera?
