To make the Base Coil you wrap wire around the steel piece. I duct taped paper plates to the steel piece to make it easier. The more the coils the better the transfer of electricity.

Then, to make the Reciever Coil I put the non-sticky side on a D Battery and then wraped the wire on the sticky side. Make sure the reciever coil is around the size of the unless the steel piece is huge. Or if you have magnet film to see the where greatest amout of magnetism is. Once you are done winding the coil you can slide the coil off the battery.

now i have two questions: i always thought that the coils couldn't touch; is there a coating over them? also, would it work to have an alternating magnetic current around just a conducter coil. In faradays experiement, he simply slid the magnet through the center of a paper cyllinder with wire coiled over it, and he got a voltage. What if you had that next to the magnet, or ran the magnet over the coils instead of through the center.

most wires come coated, you have to scrape/burn off the ends

Read the writings of Tesla. I'm pretty sure when he invented this device to extract energy from air waves he patented it and it's now published freely. His proposing this is what put him on the bad side of Morgan and wound him up as a business person nongrata, set him on dire financial straits.

basicly, because morgan had just put millions into wiring America and now tesla wanted to kill it.

Funny, I thought it was Edison ripping him off, and voluntarily walking away from his contract with GE that put him in that boat.

I just googled "Morgan Edison" (minus quotes). The third link:

Marginalizing Tesla
http://www.mecfilms.com/universe/articles/marginal.htm

"Thus Morgan, Edison, Marconi and Carnegie were ultimately in collusion against Tesla for personal- and business-related reasons. "

I was merely trying to establish the connection between Morgan and Edison. I had no idea it was going to lead me right back to Tesla.

More:
"Thomas Alva Edison had secured capital from the Morgan Partners and other financiers to establish the Edison Electric Illuminating Company..."

Funny, YOU learn something new everyday...

When it rains it pours. When you get on the wrong side of the financial dominant, as tesla did Morgan, a multitude of influences will surely follow to ensure your prostration. Edison ripping him off, him feeling like GE was trying to get over on him, in all likelihood relate to his situation with billionaire banker Morgan.

They both contributed...Edison sure didn't help being an egomaniacal bully, but the GE deal and some of his more radical ideas definitely were part of the cause of this stuff.
