Wood and Metal Wall Art

I'm totally into Arts and Craft...anything interest me. I've been looking into metal art...but not being able to weld for lack of equipment was a major drawback...being surfing for a cheap welding kit...but all the prices were way... to high for me. Imagine my excitement when instructables put up this challenge...and the prizes!!! wow! My mouth is still drooling.....so please pretty please...VOTE FOR ME :-).
Below is my metal and wood art. I used the wood part cause ...i actually did this before the All metal boat...http://www.instructables.com/id/All-Metal-Wall-Art-Sailing-Boats/
So i didn't think of soldering. for those of you who don't want to go the wood way...check out my boat instructable and go the soldering way.
Anyway it was a chance for me to practice my lap joints :-)

Step 1: Materials

square 1/2" wood dowels
Aluminium sheet
nail / hammer/ flat screw driver
rotary tool like dremel (optional...you could opt for the hard work and go the only nail and hammer way)
oil based wood stain
varnish
Hot glue gun or double stick tape
Jigsaw

Thanks :-)...i really like how the light shines through the tin punching...trying to incorporate it into another lamp i'm doing for my cousin....will try and post an instructable soon

I can't wait to see it! I will be making one of these when we get settled into a new place. Right now my place is a night mare! I hate the mess but love the look afterwards!

thanks...if you do it and fix leds...please pretty please take pics and do an instructable with it...i don't know how many leds to fix with a battery and an on off switch.

Thanks a lot! :-) well...if you have a small drill...which is like about 25-30 dollars...it's a snap...(if you live in asia like i do ask an aunt or someone abroad to bring it for you and pay them. make sure its 220V ..that means avoid US and Canada). Or try stacking all the same designs up like in step 3 ..tape them up and hit your frustration/ anger out :-D. ..with a nail and hammer ...good luck!
