Introduction: Wooden CARVED SHIP

I was motivated to make the project with the movie PIRATE TO CARIBBEAN
My answers to the Make-To-Learn contest:

1- What did I make?
THE STORY BEHIND MY PROJECT,
Hi this was the most difficult job to make the ship when i was in 8th standard
IN MY SUMMER HOLIDAYS,
I DECIDED TO MAKE THE USE OF MY TIME WITH A VERY CREATIVE ,
ENJOYABLE PROJECT THAT COULD ALSO BE USED AS A SHOW PIECE
SO, BY MAKING THE MIND STRESS LESS I DESIGNED THE WOODEN CARVED SHIP
IN approx 2 days
MY AIM WAS TO UTILISE MY TIME AND I MADE A PIECE OF ART WORK WITH A UNIQUE TECHNIQUE THAT IS KNOWN AS CARVING

2- How did I make it?
IN THIS I SELECTED THE CARVING TOOLS FROM WHICH IT IS VERY SIMPLE BUT YOU MAY ALSO USE DIFFERENT KINDS OF KNIFES TO DO THIS WORK
I GOT THE IDEA TO MAKE THIS PROJECT WHEN I WAS WATCHING A MOVIE

3- Where did I made it?
THIS WAS A LITTLE HARD WORK TO DO BUT DECIDED TO DO IT ALONE WITHOUT ANY INTERFERENCE
AS THIS WAS MY SUMMER HOLIDAY I DECIDED TO MAKE THE PROJECT AT HOME
DURING MY WORK I NO PROBLEM BUT IT TOOK A FULL DAY TO CARVE THE BASE OF THE SHIP BUT MY MOTHER MOTIVATED MY TO COMPLETE MY WORK, HER MOTIVATION HELPED ME A LOT

4- What did I learn?
DURING THE BUILD I WAS IN A FEAR THAT MY YOUNGER BROTHER WOULD DESTROY IT AND AS IT IS INCOMPLETE THE MESS OF VERY THIN SLICES WOOD COULD ALSO HARM HIM,
BUT I FINISHED THE BUILD MY NEAR BY UNCLE AND AUNTIES APPRECIATED ME FOR MY WORK WHICH WAS THE proudest of all...

Step 1: STEP 1

THE MATERIALS REQUIRED:
1. A WOODEN BLOCK (ABOUT 24*14*14 in)
2. CARVING TOOLS
3. SCREW-DRIVER
4. ADHESIVE
5. TOOTHPICKS
6. STRAW STICKS
7. HARD THREAD
8.WOODEN POLISH(VARNISH)

Step 2: STEP 2

CARVE THE WOODEN BLOCK IN A SHAPE SUCH THAT IT LOOKS LIKE A SHIP
IT SHOULD BE NARROW FROM BOTTOM AND THICK FROM  TOP AND A LITTLE CARVED SHAPE FROM THE FIRST SIDE
AS SHOWN IN IMAGE
FROM THE BACK SIDE
LEAVE A FLAP ON WHICH THE DECK WILL BE
AND ON ITS BOTTOM A FAN AND THE FLAP WILL BE AS SHOWN IMAGE

MEAN WHILE WE NEED TO MAKE THE FAN AND THE BLADE OF THE SHIP
WE NEED THE TOOTH PICKS TO MAKE THIS

Step 3:

AFTER CARVING THE BASE YOU NEED TO CARVE THE DESIGN SHOWN IN THE IMAGE WITH THE HELP OF SCREW DRIVER
ON THE BASE OF YOUR SHIP

Step 4:

after all this we have completed the base of the ship

NOW WE NEED TO MAKE THE FOUR SAIL TOWERS AS SHOWN IN IMAGE

FOR THIS WE NEED TWO TOOTH PICKS
WE WILL PLACE ONE HORIZONTALLY AND ANOTHER VERTICALLY
PLACING THESE TWO IN THE MENTIONED POSITION YOU WILL GET A PLUS POINT OR THE POINT OF INTERSECTION, YOU NEED TO APPLY SOME GLUE AND TIE IT WITH THREAD

Step 5: STEP 5

BY REPEATING STEP 4 MORE 3 TIMES YOU WILL GET 4 TOWERS
NOW WE NEED TO STICK ALL THESE TOWERS TO THE BASE THAT WE HAVE MADE BEFORE NOW
TAKE THE 4 TOWERS AND STICK ALL OF THEM AS SHOWN IN THE IMAGE

Step 6: STEP 6

NOW WE NEED TO MAKE THE FRONT TOWER OF THE SHIP
THIS WOULD BE MADE AS THE OTHER TOWERS HAVE BEEN MADE

Step 7: STEP 7

WE HAVE COMPLETED MAKING OF OUR SHIP NOW WE NEED TO PAINT IT WITH VARNISH AFTER APPLYING VARNISH IT WILL LOOK AWESOME

THANK YOU

I started carving boats at around the same age. Mine were never as detailed, I just floated them down the stream behind my house. You've done some good work.

Nice ship. I'll probably add some paper sails to it and float it down in the bathtub :D
