This project was definitely ambitious, but I'm so glad with how it turned out in the end!

Step 1: Materials

Newpaper
Scissors
Packing Tape
Needle
Thread

Step 2: Weave

Weave long 1 inch strips of paper together. Your bag can be as large as you want. As long as opposite sides are equivalent, you're good to go! After each side is completed, cover it with clear packing tape. This protects your bag from water to some degree.

Step 3: Sew on Sides

Sew all four sides to the base of the bag.

Step 4: Sew Sides Up

 Sew the sides together.

Step 5: Add the Straps

To make the straps, take one sheet of newspaper and fold it (lengthwise) until you reach the desired width. Finish by laminating them  with the tape. And lastly, sew them onto the bag.

Step 6: Finished!

How do you weave the paper strips and are they one inch wide or long?
They're one inch wide. I just laid the strips out on a flat surface and went through the motions of going in and out. This article might help: http://www.wikihow.com/Make-Placemats-by-Weaving-Paper-Strips<br>
Do you know how to keep the straps even?
Very cute! Very good for the comics section :D
Oh yeah! :D
Why did you choose newspaper? Could you use wrapping paper?
I don't know. I was bored one day and just went for it with the newspaper. Honestly, I didn't even think of using wrapping paper but I'm sure that would work just fine! In fact, wrapping paper offers a lot of opportunities to incorporate color and pattern. I'll have to try that! Thanks for the inspiration! :)
