I have 3 x10 (ninja) pan and tilt bases and only 1 x10 camera. I also have two other wireless cameras, but the way the x10's are set up, only x10 cameras are compatible (as far as I have researched), so I made my own modification to fit my wireless camera on it. This enables me to turn the camera on and off with the base, so it won't interfere with my other one.

Warning: There is a chance of electrical shock while doing this instructable. Make sure the base is unplugged while working on it.

Step 1: Materials

Here's what you need to do this mod:

1. A x10 pan and tilt base
2. The x10 camera adapter
3. Scissors
4. Wireless camera with the 9v adapter that came with it (make sure that it doesn't need too much/little power otherwise your picture may come out distorted)
5. Smoke detector (or anything you can get a 9v clip out of)
6. Electrician's tape
7. A motor (or something to test for pos./neg. power)

Step 2: Start Chopping

1.Take the 9v clip out of the smoke detector and strip the two wires.

2. Take the x10 camera adapter and cut it around the center. Take the larger end. If you look at the cable you just cut, you should see: the outside rubber, wire, then another tube with wire inside it. Strip off the outer wire and twist the wire together off to one side. Next strip the inner wire and twist that wire off to the other side. Now you have the pos. and neg. leads.
(Note: If you want, you can also hook up another 9v clip to the other end so that you can still use the two ends together)

3. Plug the adapter into the x10 base.

Step 3: Now Put It All Together...

Another note: There are two plugs that connect together to connect the base to power (shown in the main picture). Keep these close by so you don't have to keep unplugging the base from the wall.

Now on to the fun.
1. Plug the base in and test the two wires coming out of the adapter to figure out which is positive and which is negative.
2. Unplug the base.
3. Connect the 9v clip to the correct wires.
4. Connect the 9v adapter to the wireless camera.
5. Connect the two 9v clips together.
6. Plug in the base and tune in the receiver to pick up the signal.
7. If you did it correctly, you'll get a nice picture (the tv I used was a B/W surveilance tv, and as you can tell from the red light on the bottom, my camera moved)
8. Wrap the wires with electrician's tape.
9. Put everything together into a nice bundle.

If you don't have a picture, you may have hooked the wires up backwards. Just unhook them and try again.
