XM8 / FN SCAR Knex Gun

This is instructions for Alingarhs knex weapon. I did get permission from him to make and may I say this is the most powerful magazine fed gun with only 2 elastics that I ever made. Without further ado here are the instructions.

If you need more instructions on a step or you are having problems with the gun post a comment or message me.

The pics are great by the way.

I am making a video today with my friend showing its aim and power.
If you see any mistakes tell me too and also spelling errors.

yeah, these kinds usually fire blue rods to have the highest caliber ammo but still look realistic.

im going to invent a true AR which actually shoots more than once per time you pulll trigger, to do that you connect the trigger to the motor, so it flips it when you pull and release the trigger

to make it look more finished, replace the last blue connector with a yellow/grey connector and clip 2 more brown connectors on the end of the brown connectors sticking out (in the manner of the okp handle.)

it looks like mepain's gun, the trigger system is almost exactly the same as the one from mepain, but the only things are that the barrel is shorter and the magazine.

I've been having trouble with this gun (mostly the magazine) because i simply cannot find any of the 'Y' pieces. I can only fin two and i used them up on the part that the magazine hooks on to. Do you think there would be a problem not to you any 'Y's' on this step?

ummmmm, well the bullets would not make it into the barrel properly, resulting in more jamming but you could always experiment, try green rods they moght work as a replacement.

Instead of decapitating two precious dark grey pieces you can cut one orange or brown one in half. I use my trusty old friend the junior hack saw1

It makes it more accurate but can decrease the power.

Hey guys um i was wondering if i should post this gun it is based off the scar but me and my friend think it has a some more power due to some factors including that the barrel/chamber is closer so the firing pin gives a long push

i had trouble with the barrel because the pin and the ammo would get stuck in the half peices. to solve this problem i took out the two peices. also i took the tape off and left only two grey peices on the fireing pin. now when i try to fire the gun... the fireing pin gets stuck somewhere or it just doesnt move. sometimes it conects with the bullet. However, when it does, the bullet moves less then a centimeter and doesnt make it out of the barrel. plz help!!!!

Hey this gun is awesome and I have made it a few times for me and for other people but we could never figure out where to put the rubberbands. It does a good amount of power with good rubberbands. Still can you clarify a little nmore and add more pics on where to place the rubberbands:)thankyou

If it works for you then you do not need to put any more bands, basically it is up to you were you put them but those were just my suggestions.

when i built this gun i had problems with the red connector on the ram , i couldnt get it to stay on so i modded the gun so the 2 grey rods that supported the ram were above and below the ram its sooooooooooo much more powerful now

how far does it go for you? i made it so i could hardly pull back and it went through my knex box lid but i tryed again and loads of it just shattered. i rebuilt again and then the trigger stopper working and it cut my hadns badly

Mine goes 70-80ft easy and that is with very little rubberbands. Well with any gun if you put too many rubberbands on it will break and as for the trigger problem the same thing happened to me. The gun was loaded, one of my fingers was slightly in the barrel and the trigger failed. The round shot out hit my finger and took a gauge of skin right of my finger. Now I have a scar with an indent in my finger.

yah i did something similar with an experiment and i shot a sharpened rod into my finger and i had to pull it out and it started gushing, so I hope that everyone will be more safe

Killa-X would like to say i love this gun behind killer-K's pistol. I got 4 total long rubber bands on it (i did front to pin on each side) it shoots hard and quiet far. I just wish the ammo section worked without jamming. wish i could figure WHAT is blocking.

Nice, Loving it. Only problems i had are: 1: Maybe i did something wrong... but to fire i push the trigger up, not down. 2: sometimes the bullet would fire, and the end gets stuck at one of the cut pieces in the barrel. Self-Fix though, just a more trimming. Otherwise, works great. only tested with 1 band and it still fired nice distance. I'm gona sharpen the pull-rod as it catches a bit through the tunnels.

highly disappointed... ive wasted my entire day and had to take apart my two favorite guns (both my video game themed magnums) to make this because it looked so sturdy, looked so cool, and i thought it would work great. well its sturdy and looks cool but DOES NOT WORK WELL AT ALL. im really frustrated with this gun now. thankfully it wont be too hard to remove the loading and firing part and make something that actually works.

I had this problem. It is probably because you used too much tape on the ram which caused it too get shorter and thus cannot reach the barrel. My mods are hard to get just right. Sorry.

You need to tap on the bottom of the pusher every time for it to work.

How do you get the firing pin to stay? The red piece always comes off of the grey rod,

You need to tape it and use a rubberband too push the tape against the rod. What I am trying to say is tape it there in adavance and rap a rubberband around the tape so the tape is being pressed against the rod tightly. If this does not work (it did for me) hot glue it there and then tape it.

Well I figured out one of the problems with the trigger, the rod above the rod that the trigger is on is empty. ( like there is not spacers on it ) Try to add 4 blue spacers, that might help because it worked for me.

Well, if you prefer power keep his magnum, but if you want range and almost as powerful as killerks magnum plus this has a mag then you should make this.

You can use a half-balljoint connector instead of a decapitated grey connector, right? Although maybe the rod would have to be sharpened then.

No you cannot because a ball joint connector is slightly smaller then a rod so a rod can clip into it but decapitated peices are just right. If you do not want to decapitate a peice just use tan clips, but the gun will jam.

Doesn't this gun use the same stock and slide (almost) as Mepain's Sniper Rifle? Might wanna save those parts if you're building this, it was posted after Mepain's so I'm assuming. either way very nice looking gun that I look forward to building.

Well, if you're short on pieces, I would note that my old Red Impact is very capable. There are virtually no unnecessary (aesthetic) pieces, just a powerful hopper-fed bow. It's still regarded as one of the best of its kind because of how cleanly it fires. It uses about half the parts as this, which is why I'm throwing it out there.

This one is extrmely powerful if you have the right bands(I used 3 chains of 3#64 bands tied together and stretched them as far as they would go) and I shot it across one of my friends buildings(his parents own an Atlantic Wildlife Institute and this building I am talking abot is 80 ft long and it is called the learning center) anywasy I got off topic but there are some other guns but I like this one.

can someone please clarify where the rubber bands and spacers go in the last two pics of step 3? i don't understand the placement of the rubber bands in the last pic.

You just wrap it arround the blue rod and too the bottom of the connector. Basically all it does is secure the rod in place so it does ont pop out. You could use hot glue tape or anything else you can find.

I think the max it can hold is 15 r 14 or 13 or somewhere along those lines, but, you can always make it bigger. Me and my friend made it at least 4 times the size and it held 50 rods.

I have some constructive criticism, not to sound like a jerk, but your magazine looked pretty good so i tried it on my gun, but the pushers kept braking on me. I recommend to strengthen them. But I do like the originality of your gun design.
