Is your locker bland, boring, without personality? I'm here to change that. I'll give you some ideas on how to personalize and decorate your locker to make it totally yours.

Step 1: Magnet Mania!

Magnets, magnets, magnets! Magnets are useful for holding schedules, lunch cards, and just for making your locker look better!

Look on your family fridge for cool magnets to use. Souvenir shops also have some good magnets. Your local officemax has some nice ones too.

Making your own magnets, however, is much more fun and rewarding. Buy some magnet sheets with the sticky peel-off back, available at OfficeMax and at local craft stores. Pretty cheap. Next, find anything small enough to fit in your hand that you would want in your locker! Some good suggestions are:

Playing cards
Birthday cake toppers
Buttons
Business Cards
Game pieces (checkers, chess, etc.)
McDonald's toys
Postcards
Stickers (with backing still on)
Clothing tags
Coins
Pins

Make sure to cut out just enough magnet for the figure.
Also, you could magnet a small notebook and a pen/pencil to your locker for easy access.

Step 2: Containers

A container is nice to have to keep all your stuff from getting lost in your backpack and your locker. You can buy your own at OfficeMax, Target, or any place that sells back-to-school items. Get one with large cups to put all your pencils, reminders, etc.

To make your own, find anything small enough to fit in your locker. Some suggestions:

Small kleenex box
Chinese take-out box
small cardboard box
small basket
empty soup can
Old cup

You might want to buy a stronger magnet, depending on how much stuff is going in this container. You could grab an old one from the fridge if you need to.
Decorate with sequins, buttons, stickers, anything you want! Make it yours!

Step 3: Posters

I loooove posters. I have a ton in my room, why not my locker? Just remember to use magnets to put everything up.
I suggest keeping it to a one-sheet per poster maximum, but if you want anything bigger, use this website:

It will take any image and put it on multiple sheets for a giant poster.
Be creative! Use album covers, tv show opening sequences, movie posters, whatever you want!
If you want to take screenshots from your computer and put it up on a poster, here are some easy instructions.
I wanted to take the ads from the USA Network for 3 of the most amazing shows ever, Burn Notice, Psych, and Monk, and turn it into a poster. First, find the key on your keyboard that says PrtScn. Find the screen image you want and push the key. Then go into any Microsoft program, I suggest Powerpoint, and paste into it. You should have your screenshot. Crop to the image that you want, and you're done! If you want multiple images, group them together by selecting the first image, then holding Ctrl, then right clicking on the second image. Scroll to Grouping and click Group. You can now resize the images as one.

Step 4: Other Stuff...

Still looking for ideas? Try old Christmas ornaments to hang from those hooks on the ceiling of the locker that nobody uses. Another cool idea would be to take some old CDs and hang them up, or put them up using sticky magnets. You can put them on either side, they'll both look cool! Try using CD inserts from computer games, DVDs and albums. Also, if there's some weird funk from the last kid that had your locker, get a car air freshener. Try to find a smaller one, the big ones are waaay too powerful. Hang it from the hooks.

A locker shelf is also a good idea, just get one strong enough to hold all your books. I suggest a metal over a plastic one.
Be creative! If you think it's cool, try it. Just remember to never put tape or anything else that could damage your locker permanently, because the school could make you pay for it.
