you can tape, glue, staple (with weather stripping) with clear plastic over it for a water tight fit!! the plastic needs to be clear to be inconspicuous. :)

If you're ever in a hotel and you have a friend kick a hole in the wall....some epoxy and a outlet or phone jack for the wall will cover it nicely, too. Don't ask me how I know...

If you work at it carefully, you can remove the 'plug' part of the outlet and then glue it to the faceplate, making even more room inside
