Ramboia is happier than ever!
She approves the new space, the new feeder and the tubes!

It is great fun watching her running around the tubes and sliding in the steeper section.

This solution is really cheap, easy to execute and whenever you want you are able to extend the tubes.

I need to find more water bottles! I also might buy another plastic boxes and interconnect them using these tubes, throughout my whole bedroom!

In the next days I might update with more pics and even more tubes, who knows?

Cool I have two gerbils but they would probably eat the bottles, considering they chewed up a PVC tube

Nice instructable! This really wants to make me have an hamster of my own again. Had one a couple of years backs. I love how you expanded the cage in a cheap way. Altough mind that some hamsters love to gnaw everything, so don't make it attractive to them by cutting the bottles sloppy (the pointy edges are easy to gnaw). And also on the last page in picture 4 I can see that you're using a sort of wool in her little house. Hamsters can easily get entangled in that stuff and die from dehydration/starvation or suffocation if they are not freed quickly. Best would be if you would leave the house empty. From my experience, hamsters will quickly fill their house with woodchips and food and seem to be enjoying it a lot (at least it will preoccupy them for some hours). Hope these tricks help a bit, Sea4nl

I know what stuff it is, I had it for a while when I still had an hamster. I can't find any English sources on it but there are some Dutch sites (I am from holland) that state that the cotton is in fact dangerous. Although accidents are quite rare so it in the end it probably comes down to personal preference. I, personally, really enjoyed watching how my hamster would fill his house up every time I cleaned it (also felt a bit guilty though, for disposing all of his "furniture"). The sight of a hamster stuffing his face with woodchips and looking up to you asking what that big thing is watching him is just the funniest and cutest thing ever. Good luck on further expansions! I hope that your hamster will one day be the happy owner of your bedroom hamster metropolis!
