Introduction: Zip Final Prototype

About: Hello. I'm JonnyBGood! I'm a college student who now has a degree in Mechanical Engineer Technology. (MET) (excessively worded to mean a person who builds stuff).I enjoy building K'nex guns and many other thin…

Hello! I'm JonnyBGood and today I bring the complete ible' of the small pump action k'nex gun: Zip. I can't say that I was expecting all the interested people who left me a comment. I actually didn't like my first model but after shooting it at least thirty times with no problems I couldn't help but enjoy shooting with this thing. Zip has been improved with better rubberband placement, so it doesn't kill your rubberbands every ten shots. I also improved the ammo hopper so it feeds the blue rods better. I really enjoy playing with this gun and I hope that you k'nex gun experts give this gun a try and tell me what you think.
Please review my gun,and also please drop by the preview for more information about the gun. (You can also see this review for info https://www.instructables.com/community/Zip-Review/
Alright now let's start building!

Step 1: The Body

Well every gun starts the same way with some sort of base to build off. After completing that make sure to pay close attention to where the blue rods go. Then finish this step by adding a little bit of the decorative panels.

Step 2: Handle and Firing Mechanism (Part 1)

Now it's time to make the handle. This step involves a few layers so make sure to watch the pictures. This handle is held on by bendy rods, but it's only because the rod supporting it would get in the way. The handle is still very strong as you will feel when you are done. The start of the trigger mech requires 1 three connector length cut rod. This is because it would not fit inside of the gun and move without adding another layer.

Step 3: The Top and the Internals (Part 1)

This is a pretty easy step overall. Follow the pictures and build what you see. Make sure to thread the firing mech between the top assembly as shown in the pictures.

Step 4: Internals and Mechanism (Part 2)

This step is kind of hard so be sure to look at the pictures carefully! The broken Y-clip in this step is NOT necessary so please don't break one.

Step 5: Pump and the Other Important Stuff

Okay. Now finish up your gun by making the last few pieces. Make sure to add rubberbands as shown in the picture.

Step 6: Done!!!

Great job finishing your own Zip! I hope you enjoy this gun as much as I do. If you have any questions or something isn't working correctly, ask about it, I'll help you out. Have fun and vote please! JonnyBGood
