zombie Kit 006.jpg
We help to run a monthly Zombie themed night at a local nightclub and each month we try and add another prop to help with the atmosphere. It was inspired by this
http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/gadgets/the-zombie-preparedness-kit-195294.php

I wanted something a little bigger, better and designed to fit well into a dimly lit nightclub. Here is the finished result !

There was an outbreak in 1977 in Belize...It was a virus, I forget the name. And Dead Rising makes zombie killing look easy. Crushing a skull ain't easy. The standard hatchet is the best zombie killer. Never use chainsaws, their fuel supply is finite. And one slip, the spinning chain could be going in your head, not the infected's. Take refuge in a mall or prison. They are fortresses in themselves. If an outbreak occurs in your area, stay in your home, and find a hatchet. Only migrate in desperation. Thank you.

Never ever ever go to a mall
Its just like serving yourself as zombie dinner.
Filled with people. Lotsa people = Lotsa zombies
Colonel88 says: Sep 30, 2009. 5:33 PM
Mall? There's like 4+ entrances and too many to cover. Looting? Good. Refuge? Bad. But it's good for 20+ people, but not for only like 5. SO you're saying we should never use chainsaw because they are dangrous? Never heard of a chainsaw goin in ur head by accident. What you're saying is so "The Final Destination"
KingOfCatfish says: Oct 7, 2010. 2:21 PM
Chainsaws are bad because they cast blood into the air, thus causing an infectious cloud of zombie blood.
anibioman says: May 7, 2010. 7:55 PM
i havent herd of chainsaws going through heads but i have herd of chainsaws cutting through legs(femoral arteries) and people bleeding to death
bairdeagle says: Apr 23, 2010. 12:00 AM
looting wouldnt be that good cos everyone in the world goes to the mall first. id be goin to the campin a hiking stores. also boats are good just ancor one 20m from land in a strong current
PyroManiac96 says: Apr 8, 2009. 11:37 AM
a mall wou;d be a very bad place to hide out- many open, weak entrances, many people would be in the mall when the infection hit, so it would be overrun by zombies, and there are limited supplies that will rot when the power goes out. A prison though, is an excellent idea-guns, food(not the best tasting, but nutritious), work out rooms, and it is bery well fortified
bowmaster says: Jun 16, 2008. 12:59 PM
You should have a fort hidden far from any towns and a fast wat to get there.
anibioman says: May 7, 2010. 7:57 PM
i had the zombie survival guide loved it lent it to a friend and he never gave it back... meh!?
spookysculpter says: Oct 28, 2009. 11:16 PM
I whacked a Cricket bat hard before and it snapped off at the handle!!!:O Imagine trying that on a zombie skull.....gotta get a baseball bat or crowbar....Awesome prop :)
ilpug says: Sep 19, 2009. 5:17 PM
umm, you forgot extra ammo, a torch, bottles of urine, a lot of lye, and slicewire this is not very useful, besides, in shawn of the dead, they were in a bar and stil got zombie raped... plus the music would attract the zombies. i point out that a double-barreld gun like the one shown is too slow, a pump riot gun with a double snaildrum would do nicely...
sammchugh says: Jul 6, 2009. 3:50 PM
STAY AWAY FROM PUBLIC PLACES! when they renamed it will be where they died.... in public. Read the zombie survival guide, and world war Z if you feel like it.

Max Brooks is truly a master of zombie non-fiction.

Awesome 2 the Xtreme. I'm not the most handy person, so I'm not sure if this is good advice or bad advice, but I'd do all the painting before assembling instead of after. Also, it would be cool to have a tiny hammer at the end of a chain on the side of the case. I'd solder the hammer to the hook holding it though, just so no once actually breaks the glass. Something else that might be cool would be a "Zombie bite first aid kit" and just have a toy gun inside :P
hcold says: Aug 29, 2008. 4:26 AM
But what if the glass needs to be broken in case of zombie attack? I hope to see an X etched in the glass, to make it easier to breaker, as well.

Glass can be pretty expensive, depending on size. Plexi's pretty high too.
GwydTUnusual says: Jun 16, 2008. 11:15 AM
The zombie bite first aid kit idea is BRILLIANT! I'm going to make a seperate one of those right after I make one of these!
ryannui says: Apr 13, 2012. 1:29 PM
if you get bitten by a zombie you have to a, kill yourself or b, go through the painful progress of becoming one
finfan7 says: Aug 26, 2008. 3:35 PM
Another follower of Brooks. Awesome. Also this is an excellent instructable. full documentation during the project.
filthyfury says: Jun 21, 2008. 6:28 PM

xmikeox says: Jun 2, 2007. 9:17 AM
That's really scary, a lot of make-up scares me, even if it is a costume.
lukeair45 says: Jun 22, 2007. 11:10 PM
why would you need this kit anyways? It is cool but.........
munkey_b0y (author) says: Jun 23, 2007. 7:03 AM
It's a prop for a Zombie themed night we run at a local night club once a month. I guess it could be a talking point at parties or a nice addition to a haunted house for halloween.

Cool Instructable!!! Too bad the candles painted red wouldn't do much good but the real things probably to dangerous to have in a bar.

duct tape apprentice says: Jul 7, 2007. 9:12 PM
if youd actually READ the book you put in there, you would have put in a katana, a wakizashi, a carbine, a crossbow, and a handgun (and possibly a few other things) but good job on the actual box :P
