Zombie Robotic Dog

Zombie Robotic Dog
I had this robotic dog toy, "Tekno". Man was that a scary beast. It yelped and whined like a real dog, but demanded emotional satisfaction from its owners in the form of pumping its butt-switches, and scratching its nose hall sensors.

I couldn't take its yapping, so I brought it to MITERS to convert it from a normal, healthy robotic dog with a mass-produced personality, into a zombie robotic dog with a personality all of my own design.

Want to infuse your consumer electronics with the essence of life death? I'll show you what I did!

Not long after I started this project, somebody stole and/or threw away the body, so I'm posting what I have, as far as I got.

Where would you have gone? Post your ideas!

Step 1Identify Bolts

Identify Bolts
This dog had some seriously hellishly buried bolts to unscrew. This design was never meant to be tampered with. Never. Parts of the robot blocked access to crucial bolts. Hard-to-reach bolts were all easy-to-strip. On top of that, the bolts tended to strip their plastic holes on the way out, clearly not meant to go back in again.

Don't let obnoxious design stop you! My first step was to seek out and unscrew as many bolts as possible.

Designers! Don't let this happen to you. Things are meant to be taken apart! An un-tinkerable robot is already a broken robot. Broken design is bad design.

I had an older Techno, and was shocked to see that it ran on only 2 motors, but mine never had the red and blue led's, it just had the yellows, but a suggestion, not a zombified techno, but a T1 terminator affect, replace the legs with a toy tank tred.
