awesome firework timer

Build a cheap timed delay for fireworks (great for leaving before a firework goes off)

Step 1Matereals

For this project you will need:

1 or more fireworks (I used air bombs)
1 cigarete (use king sized for longer timer)
1 something to make a hole in the cigarette (i used a toothpick the pic shows a pen)

wow, its because with this you can have a large delay. if you dont want to do it, DONT. it takes about 10 minutes to burn down instead of 10 seconds. thats the point.

Agreed. For instance, say you wanted to light off a firework at some location, but wanted to be able to leave the scene in a calm manner and not get caught. Then you take your super long fuse delay, light it, get very far away, and hear about it on the news later that evening.

learning is not always copying others ideas and doing it yourself. open end projects like this are to promote creative thinking and get people thinking on how they can improve on it. if you have looked in the comments several people have done that already.

thats what i just said. and if you think every idea you see is meant to be practical then you think copying others things is how you learn. the point is to stimulate an interest and get people thinking on how they can modify a technique themselves.

good idea, but nowadays there are chemicals termed "fire safe chemicals" (denoted by FSC on the bottom of the pack), which will put out the cigarette if it isn't dragged. as a former smoker, it's was annoying when i was talking and smoking and it would go out, but it's for safety so it won't burn things down if you fall asleep smoking. i'm not poopooing your idea, just saying that it might be a problem that you'd run into if u decide to do this. also with cigarette prices and tobacco taxes shooting up it might not be the most cost effective solution.
