the best way to remove a wart is not to cut it off- it will most likely grow back. also if you go to the dermatologist that is expensive. the best way to remove warts is to use garlic. the acid burns the wart off for good and it doesnt even hurt-- inless you mess up and make the piece of garlic bigger than your wart.

does this work on genital warts as well?

Hi - just wanted to post our success story based on the information obtained from the original post and subsequent comments. My 7 year old had a rather large wart on her toe. Being young and not open to any painful methods we decided to try something natural before taking her to the doctor to have it burnt off. We considered the commercial freeze dry products - but they did sound a bit scary. So we put slivers of garlic on her toe for 3 nights in a row - 10 mins at a time and then put bandaids on her toe at night at bedtime (making sure it was completely sealed). After a few nights we could see the wart starting to shrink and turn black. We then consistently put a bandaid on her toe at bedtime and removed it (or she removed it) in the morning. We did this for about 2.5 to 3 weeks. It got blacker and smaller each day. Today the whole thing fell off root and all - and there was no pain on her part. In fact she didn't even notice it had fallen off until I mentioned it to her. Hopefull that's the end of it and it won't come back. I really think starving it of oxygen is the key - of course the garlic doesn't hurt and probably speeds up the whole process. I don't think it's necessary to keep the same plaster or tape on for the duration - as long as there is a good length of time the wart is starved of oxygen within a 24 hour period - it will die. Hope this help anyone else considering this method.

Boy, these are some scary plantar wart remedies with complex explanations here. I knew people who had suffered orthodox medical procedures, so I tried my own (with no great hopes of success). Kept a patch of plain ordinary white medical adhesive tape on my foot for 2 weeks and when I pulled it off the entire wart (with long root like a small white carrot) came off with the tape. Incredibly simple and painless. No chemicals, no surgery. Now 50 years later and it has never come back. Long before Duct Tape was invented, so the kind of tape has nothing to do with it other that it must make a good seal to block air and moisture from the wart.

Hi all,

The best way for warts removal at home is venigar. 2 weeks you wil see the result. you will soak your warts in 1 hour before you sleep. This is very efective.

Duct tape for a month or more? My wife's plantar wart came off in 4 days. I have heard the wart can get some of its oxygen supply from the surface exposed on the bottom of the foot. Apparently, sometimes the duct tape alone is enough to cut off the oxygen and kill the wart before it gets bigger and starts getting into the vascular system. The acid and freezing remedies should both work better if the surface if covered with duct tape, non-porus medical tape or liquid band-aid after the acid/treatment is applied. Not to mention, if the foot is taped its not likely you will spread the virus in damp areas. The Dr Scholls Clear Away over the counter foot patches have a similar setup. They have a very sticky water proof tape patch that covers the entire wart and they have a salicylic acid center has that slowly burns the wart out. They have worked for my wife on a couple of occasions. Its cheaper to use the Wart Off and the duct tape. Dont have any Wart Off? Here is another idea. Aspirin contains a high percentage of salicylic acid. Why not just duct tape an aspirin to the bottom of the foot directly over the wart? Need to get the aspirin slightly damp I would think.

Ok, I really thought someone was going to mention the right way to go about this but since no one did I will. Since we don't live in the dark ages of medicine anymore, the current best way to remove a wart is to freeze it off, now this used to be expensive to go to the doctor and have them do this. But the wonderful people at Compound W came out with freeze off, it's over the counter, it's cheap and it works. I think it uses liquid oxygen or something to that extent, so please everyone stop mutilating themselves with nails and toenail clippers.

you are misinformed by American medical propaganda. the object here is to share good ways to heal. since a wart is a virus infection of the skin, using freeze methods is way overkill. and does more damage to the skin and underlying flesh. Remember that all or most disease is caused by a weakness in the immune system. (from poor american nutrition diet or stress, etc) these other methods work. really! No offence... but freezing doesn't work. I had worts on my feet and hands for over 5 years... and went to a Medical Doctor over 12 times and got the freezing.. and the warts persisted. Actually, there are video's on youtube of people getting the freezing from docs... and then if you look at the commends... they report back that the warts are still there.... as for compound W... SAVE YOUR MONEY.... I tryed all their products... they sell the acid.. they sell the freezing tubes (for like 50$) and if you look for reviews on the net... you see that most people are unsuccessful.
I have to say, I never tryed this method (garlic) but Im not so sure if its not just another Placebo treatment. I tryed all of it... duct tape, burning, cutting, freezing, all the acids.. I even went to a naturopathic doc... and a hypnotist.. I bought a silly electric devic that ZAPPS them... you name it.. I even made a blog about it... http://plantarwartcure.blogspot.comhttp://plantarwartcure.blogspot.com where you can see some gross videos and pics of the whole thing ;-)
So be careful what you try!!! Same yourself the pain I went through..

Freezing worked fine for me. I had 10 warts at the time and visited the doc for freezing three times. I saw no results and had spent $120, so I stopped going and decided to do it myself. I bought a can of the computer dust cleaner, turned it upside down with a q-tip on the wart and used it twice a week. It hurt like hell but after a month or two they were all gone. This was over two years ago.

There is a link on how to do it on this site, but I didn't know about it at the time:

I've cut off three warts with my fingernails, and only two have attempted to come back. One was only once(which I did just now) while the other one's come back twice(it was a wart I'd had since I was, like, 8, and it was pretty big) and I cut both of them off. And it looks like they're gone for good.

I am using a thick liquid wart remover and it says to put it on the wart about 2 times a day, and i don't think it works because, it just turns the wart white. and doing any of the other things you guys mentioned sounds kind of scary or risky. what is an easy painless way to get rid of a wart on your foot beneath your big toe?

i use Elmers glue, three times a day works every time

Sir, People clearly want to know more about your technique, Please continue.
-Quantity?
-How long do you leave it on?
-Specific type? White glue? Glue stick? Super Glue?
Elmers glue is just a brand
Jan 3, 2010. 7:56 PMM F says:
just wipe the area with white elmers glue or any white glue. the glue will dry and leave a seal. keeping out all air and moisture. it seals the top exoderm layer of the skin. Then the underlying endoderm? layer can grow new and the wart falls off. I bet the other oil cures work on the same idea/ principle.
Jun 10, 2011. 12:34 AM3055001 says:
how many times do you have to put on the glue?

As you get older, your skin and body take longer to heal and grow new cells.
use it for several days at least.

Freezing does not work. It is very painful if the doctor acidentally sprays normal skin and usually requires more than one visit to the doctor if its big. My doctor accidentally sprayed on some healthy skin, i developed a huge blister and my wart is back, way bigger than before. If have also tried ductape and the wartstick which is not working!! Thanks for all the useful ideas, im going to try them all.

Wow, I guess my family is the only one who knows this technique because i didn't see it posted on here... If you put castor oil on a wart daily within only a few days it will turn black and fall off, and none of us have ever had one grow back. Hope this helps everyone :)

I used a garlic poultice to attack a bacterial infection that drug-store medication wasn't working on. I probably left it on too long, and covered too large an area. The whole area burned and blistered up. The infection didn't stand a chance. I imagine it would surely burn off a wart. Someone said the Roman army, with sword wounds, etc., used garlic as their antibiotic.

I had several burned off as a kid and teen. They never came back. Gor rid of 1 with prescription duofilm. Had some frozen and nearly all of them came back. For me, freezing just doesn't do it. But dr's here don't like to burn them any more, turns out the smoke is contagious, med office people were getting warts in their noses. So I'm working on it myself, using a vaccum cleaner to draw the smoke away and out the window. This is very painful, but has to be done. I heat a nail red hot with a torch and press it into the wart. Have done it twice in a week, has greatly reduced the wart. Another time or 2 may do it, then I'l use Aldara cream the dr prescribed as an after treatment. Not without risk I'm sure but I hate warts and will take risk. If you try this, remember to use pliers to hold the nail and have a safe surface to set it down on. A standard propane torch works well to heat the nail. Make sure nail is cleaned with alcohol. Put antibacterial ointment on site.
Jan 9, 2007. 1:11 AMbatmanohyes says:
I have another suggestion. It consits of a nail, nail clippers, fire, and pliers. Clean the nail clippers, clean the area with the wart with alcohol, also the nail. cut the wart with the clippers, heat the nail over the stove for 10-30 sec, or when you fill its hot enough. drive the hot nail in to the wart 2-3 times. at least a 1/8 inch in. the wart should be gone in a 2 weeks tops and looks great. tried it on my self twice .

Hi, had a small bump on my finger...tried everything. It even spread...I used freeze off, heating the nail method, 100% chemical peel, liquid wart remover, corn remover, anything that burns, even tried the garlic thing with duck tape. Tried super glue/caused irritation...but nothing fell off, razer blade etc.. My last method.....go see a doctor and pay...before I end up spending more and cause more scarring.

Two methods that work. For deep plantar warts under feet, soak feet in basin with hot water and cup-cull of vinegar, towel dry, then Place the tip of a soldering iron on plantar (stings a little) and insert hot tip as far as the roots, In 2 days flesh will retract around killed wart and it (plus all it’s roots) can be pulled out by tweezers. Second method is to mix sulfur ointment with the white sap from an oleander twig, Cut a hole in a bandage just big enough to expose the wart. Using a Q-tip smear the mix on the wart and cover with another band-aid. Wart will turn black and falloff after 2 days. Be careful to wash hands after handling Oleander as it’s the most poisonous of plants and just eating one leaf can kill you so wash hands carefully after handling. The sap from this deadly plant will also kill wart virus and remove melanoma cancers.

My wife has a wart that we just figured out and I'm going to try the garlic because I know it does fight viruses. I also checked my herb book and it mentioned it and I will check back with you guys and let you know about it. I told my wife that some of you just ripped it off and she almost fainted so I don't think we will go that route.
