After playing around with the Bic bow and arrow, I came up with this little modification.

Step 1: Materials

Clothespin - Honestly any sort of clamp will do. The stronger it is, the longer you can make the shaft.

Pencil - Can be replaced for something longer. See above.

Tape

Bic bow and arrow - use a big thick rubber band, it makes things shoot a LOT farther.

If you wish to prevent picture blur, use better lighting so your digital camera uses a sorter exposure. An instructable is only as good as its pictures.

Hey this is really cool! Have a look at my catapult and crossbow I made with clothespins, thought maybe you would like it!
crazytalkingtree says: Jun 21, 2010. 2:50 PM
what if you dont have a clothespin what do you use then?
k.bipin in reply to crazytalkingtreeJul 13, 2011. 12:17 AM
If you don't have anything... then use YOUR HANDS to do it...... it works better....
jaknife1102 (author) in reply to crazytalkingtreeJun 22, 2010. 9:18 AM
Use any sort of clamp, as long as it is strong enough to hold everything together.
jeffbud98 says: Jul 11, 2011. 7:46 PM
sooooooooooooooooooo awesome but wat is some other ammunition i could use
k.bipin in reply to jeffbud98Jul 13, 2011. 12:14 AM

i almost got caught at school by the f***ing principal me and my friend made like ten of these and we had a war at school and when ever the teacher turned around we sarted shooting each other then my friend shot at me and as soon as it the crossbow the principal walked in announcing a lockdown and almost caught us
facilitator476 in reply to mr.origamiJun 6, 2011. 5:09 PM
was the lockdown because a student was found dead in the hall with a pen-sized hole in his neck?
jackcade in reply to facilitator476Jul 10, 2011. 3:32 PM
why
ShadowAssassin17 in reply to facilitator476Jun 27, 2011. 9:03 PM

Use the base from http://www.instructables.com/id/Hidden-Crossbow-version-20/#step1 and the pull string to fire, and this design, and then you can conceal it in a loose sleeve =P.
dphung says: Mar 22, 2011. 2:04 AM
What does it shoot??
d3mond00d in reply to dphungMar 22, 2011. 8:06 PM

this is frikin awzum! I used a razor blade, and the blade went through 1/2 inch thick ply wood! Ok, prepare yourself for this next part: this sounds pretty unbelievable but... well i was outside near the birdfeeder and a bird flew about 15ft away from me. I shot the razerblade crossbow, and it stuck in the frikin bird!!!!!! it flew away squaking!!!!!! (i nvr did get that razr blade back, though..)

How about instead of using pens for ammo use bamboo skewers and cut them down. You can make a BB gun that can do the same thing or better I got it from this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aObEq2kEINk#t=02m04s

I found this project on a different website, so I tried it myself, creating Russel McBacksington.  It was alright.  I added duct tape stabilizers which went from the crossbar to the clothes pin.  That didn't do much, just looked cool.  There was a height difference from the barrel to the clothes pin, though.

So, I worked on Rodger Babbington, Russels older stepbrother.  Rodger has a raised crossbar and clothes pin, eliminating the height difference.  I wrapped athletic tape around the pinching part of the clothes pin, reducing misfires.  I also added my own personal touch, a handle with a quill attached.  It is absolutely EPIC.
