bushmaster m17s

 by Sharir1701
hey guys !
this is my bushmaster m17s replica thats like 95% perfect as a replica, and also works really well too.

stats:
up to 60 feet with 3 #28 bands
not very accurate
packs a strong punch
looks awesome
spring loaded curved mag
mag release system
safety 100% reliable
uses a lot of broken parts (though a few can be taken off, if you don't build all the mechanisms)
uses at least 11 hinges, but none are necessary (all are for looks, to resemble the real gun which i replicated)
extremely comfortable and easy to use
short ram pull

hope you guys'll like this as much as i do (and i DO)...

here's a vid of it in action:

Before building look here.
The Red Book of Westmarch says: Sep 29, 2012. 2:41 PM
Why are you not wearing a shirt in the video...? XD
AGH! I wish when people made an 'ible, that they would take a pic of one side of the gun with ALL the internals, so that if somebody wanted to see the internals, they would not have to go though several pics to do it.
Sharir1701 (author) in reply to The Red Book of WestmarchSep 29, 2012. 4:47 PM
but then you wouldn't actually be able to see anything, because certain things would cover others, and most guns are big, so that when taking a pic of the whole gun, you won't be able to see that many small details, definitely not all the internals. anyway, that's not really comfortable for neither the poster nor the viewer. i wasn't wearing a shirt because it was crazy hot here in israel in the summer (i made the video in august), and i just didn't feel like it. it's not such a big deal...
The Red Book of Westmarch in reply to Sharir1701Sep 29, 2012. 6:09 PM
True, but then you could do as I do, and:
1) Take a picture of one side of the gun,
2) Begin to take pictures of one part of the internals at a time,
3) Once the internals are finished, slap on the other side, and ad the extras.

In this way, you get the same effect, but it is easier to see where your going. Don't bother about wearing a shirt, I was just teasing you. Did I send you a PM...?
Sharir1701 (author) in reply to The Red Book of WestmarchSep 29, 2012. 7:41 PM
but that still won't work for most guns. you see, most guns, unlike your's are 5 layers, while your's are mostly 3 layers and pretty simple. on a complicated 5 layer gun (which would mean 3 layers of internals), you still wouldn't be able to see everything, and so it would still be easier, as well as more organized to do it step by step (i don't mean the instructable's steps, i mean building each part in steps. i dislike 'ibles with multiple unnecessary steps in them).

oh alright, i actually wasn't sure, i don't know if it's a taboo or something in other countries. i don't believe i got a PM from you. let me double check... nope.
The Red Book of Westmarch in reply to Sharir1701Sep 30, 2012. 6:57 PM
Actually, most of my guns are 5 layers (now). I understand what your saying, and will take it into account. I was just giving advice.
Sharir1701 (author) in reply to The Red Book of WestmarchSep 30, 2012. 7:13 PM
ok, good to hear you've moved to 5 layers, it is much much better. i still haven't a PM from you.
The Red Book of Westmarch in reply to Sharir1701Sep 30, 2012. 7:17 PM
Well, I moved to 5 layers like 2 to 3 months ago. I have not sent a PM to you because I did not think you would want to join my contest. I sent PMs to the people who I thought would want to join my contest.
Sharir1701 (author) in reply to The Red Book of WestmarchSep 30, 2012. 7:36 PM
oh, i thought it had something to do with mine, never mind then.
The Red Book of Westmarch in reply to Sharir1701Oct 1, 2012. 2:31 PM
Yup.

You say "um" a lot in the video.
Sharir1701 (author) in reply to Raz1r Knex Bull3tOct 21, 2011. 4:21 PM
I know lol. English isn't my primary language so i don't speak too fast if i don't really think about what i'm gonna say before i say it.
Oblivitus in reply to Sharir1701Oct 24, 2011. 12:07 PM
Oh, maybe that's why you didn't get my joke earlier. You speak it well for being a second language. They should teach other languages at an earlier age in America, I didn't get a chance to take a foreign language class until I was a teenager, by that age our brains have stopped being receptive to learning new languages. I barely learned a thing.
The Red Book of Westmarch in reply to OblivitusSep 30, 2012. 7:19 PM
I agree with you there. I took spanish for FIVE YEARS, and I can barley speak a thing of it. I'm homeschooled, which I think is the best mode of schooling, but I did not lear a thing from that old version of roseta stone.
Sharir1701 (author) in reply to OblivitusOct 24, 2011. 2:13 PM
i got you'r joke from earlier. it just wasn't very funy 's all. and i speak english fluently. i lived in England between ages 3 and 7 (the ages you're most receptive to languages) and learnt there at school 3 years (in England you start school extra early). i just don't naturally think in english because it's not my primary language, so i have to do the process of translating my thoughts from hebrew to english. that is what takes me time when i'm talking about my guns, cause i don't really think things through before i make the video, and then at live i have to do the translation process.
Oblivitus in reply to Sharir1701Oct 24, 2011. 3:34 PM
Ahh all right. Cool.

Oh, then we just don't share the same sense of humor. Either that or it's not as funny when it's typed. You'd have to hear me say it out loud.
Sharir1701 (author) in reply to OblivitusOct 24, 2011. 4:22 PM
I think its because its typed. By the way add me on skype dude.
Oblivitus in reply to Sharir1701Oct 24, 2011. 6:36 PM
Yeah, probably. PM me your name.
Raz1r Knex Bull3t in reply to Sharir1701Oct 21, 2011. 7:50 PM

it is actually already a replica, so i think the gun you linked me to is a replica of the real one as well.
Oblivitus says: Oct 24, 2011. 12:03 PM
The mag lock and release is really nice. The grip is good too. I like that it has a smooth, flat surface on three sides. The covering over the pin pull is awkward, it'd be more comfortable if it stuck out on one side only, but if it doesn't have a rail then you won't be able to do that. Overall it's a pretty good copy.
Sharir1701 (author) in reply to OblivitusOct 24, 2011. 2:17 PM
thanks and i know what you mean about the top part in the stock. i think that too, but i just just too plain lazy to get it fixed. also, a rail isn't necessary in this case, if you were to make a one side only loading handle, or a top side bolt that doesn't stick out, it would still solve the problem.

thanks anyway !

i know right...? i love this mag, and thanks.

I rated 5*, and how is the full auto mech design?
Sharir1701 (author) in reply to pinderfishOct 21, 2011. 4:19 PM
I just put it up there as a concept. I dont intend on continuing it anytime soon. Besides i'm working on the SA 3252 v9 with oblivitus. It should take quite some time to get it done.
