Great Idea!! I like it! But a un-serious warning. Double check your deodrant before using in the am, especially at my house! My teenage son would switch the 2 around, just for kicks & giggles! So you would grease up your pits, and keep your toast from sweating! But they both would come in handy latter on, to keep the smell down from the boys body after I'd kill'em, and the butter to slick'em up to stuff him into a smaller container! LOL

This'll make my obsession with garlic bread a little less wasteful.

Dood, you've been researching too much chindoku. Do you by any chance go to Aquinas College in Perth, WA???
Camillo Miller says: Apr 14, 2008. 9:04 AM
This was originally invented by the father of chindogu, Mr kawakami:

Hahah I flipped through a book a long time ago, called something like "Pointless Japanese Inventions", it definitely had the Food Cooler in it, hilarious.

yeah...

I actually didn't realize it had been done before. I guess it's a pretty obvious idea. I really love mine though. I'm thinking of making a peanut butter caulking gun to go with it. =)

Ooh Ooh Ooh! And make a jelly laser pointer! You know, you could think of millions of things like this...you should make a book, something that you could title "Reduce, Reuse, Eat!--Food inventions made from everyday items". Feel free to collaborate with me on this. ;) and maybe somehow you can turn the sprinkler mode on a hose into a spice sprayer. ;) just a suggestion.

And it would totally be a best-seller book, what with all of that "going green" stuff here in america.

hahhahahhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa That would be so cool

Darn. I thought I thought this up too. Must be a need. Take it to the BBQ or picnic. Solves some of the corn on the cob mess. I'm surprised it doesn't come packaged this way with a multitude of flavours. Garlic toast just got easier!

Don't worry. Your idea is a little different and you actually described the process to realize it! So I think yours' a great Instructables. I'm italian, and today I featured it in our blog network at www.readymady.com :-)

It *is* a great word.

QUICK, SOMEONE -- go register the chindoku.com domain, and start up a 'unuseless' how-to community website.

(I'm too lazy)

Instead of melting the butter you could also just cut it in chunks, put the chunks into the container pushed as far down as possible. Leave out for a couple of hours to soften. Then with the lid on use the wheel to roll up and 'shape' the butter. This way the butter stays the same as it original consistency. Great idea and instructable! Thanks!

i love you

gleep! =)
glatzenator says: Apr 15, 2008. 12:50 PM
ah, clever! i used to just grab the stick of butter, peel back the wrapper on one end and spread it on toast that way... this is much more efficient.
