Camping with these homemade camping led light up slippers will protect your feet and toes while they light up the way to the bathroom in the middle of the night while camping.Its a simple but brilliant idea to save those toes from harms way.

Step 1: Materials

(1) a pair of thick fuzzy slippers

(2) two led car key lights

(3) Thin wire for led wire extensions from a diode bought from Radio Shack

(4) needle and thread

Step 1~ disassemble the led key lights from the key ring.

step 2~ set aside the key rings you wont be needing them

Step 3~Save all parts from the led assembly .

Step 2: Modifying the Led Slipper

Step 1 ~ Take a razor blade and cut open the front of both slippers .

Step 2~ Take a Dremel and bore a 1 inch hole about a 1/4 inch deep where the big toe would be .

Step 3 ~ Drill a 1/8 inch hole through the front of the slipper into the hole you just made with the Dremel.

Step 3: Modifying the LED

Step 1~ Cut (4) 1 inch pieces of wife from a Diodes.

Step2~ Solder the (4) 1 inch pieces of wire to the (4) ends of the (2) LEDS.

Step 3~Cut (4) 3/4 of a inch pieces of 3/32 diameter shrink tubing.

Step 4~Put 1 piece of shrink tubing on each end of the LEDS and use a lighter or heat gun to shrink the tubing over the wire

Step 4: Assembling the New Led

Step1~ Connect the battery to the led to make sure the positive wire is on the positive side of the battery.

Step2~ Assemble the new led back into the case it came in and test to make sure it works properly.

Step 5: Installing the Led in the Slipper

Step1~ Slip the led through the hole made with the Dremel so the led sticks out the hole in the tip of the slipper.

Step2~ use a little silicone underneath the led button before playing it in the slipper .
